Our law firm is investigating claims that Boeing Employees Credit Union (BECU) made debt collection type robo-calls to customers’ cell phones. Get robo call with no answer when I pick up and speak. Hangs up. I do not have a BECU account.

Message said it was BECU lost management department.

Wanted to know if we wanted to make and equity transfer.  said they were from becu and it was scheduled.  my wife took the call and told them she knew nothing about it.

This number has called me 6 times in the last 3 weeks.  Tomorrow I am calling BECU and investigate if this has anything to do with them.

It's BECU's loss management number.  I got a call from them asking for the former owner of my cell phone's number.  Since the call fit the profile of many of the calls I receive for this person, I am confident it's legit. It was not a robo call, but a live person.  They removed my number at my request.

I also got a call from a live person, but they would not confirm who they were. So I hung up on them

been playing phone tag with them. Unable to reach them on phone when calling back. Suspicious because nothing is wrong with my bank stuff. Called BECU customer service to verify. NOT calling this number back.

I talked to a woman who said I was late on my car payment. I have an auto loan through BECU. My husband pays the bills so I had no idea what was happening

Yes. I received a phone call from BECU that resembled this type of process. I do not have an account woth BECU, nor do any of my relatives.

Once again the number is R2064395787 or toll free at 1-800-233-2328 ext. 5787. We look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.

They called my phone I went to becu. It is not becu they want verify personal i fo and aak if they can record um no not stupid. Do not give info.

So how do you account for all the posts that convincingly report this as a phishing scam?  It is also possible the number is being spoofed.

One mistake shills make - and can't avoid - is that there is no reason to be looking up and posting about a call from a number they know is "good".  So your shill post is reported.

To Future Readers/Posters:  If you get a call concerning "Fraud Protection", the safe thing to do is be careful what info you provide/confirm and then call BECU on a number you KNOW is good. Tell them what you are told or asked and see if the call was legit.

I have received multiple calls from this number to my cell. What do ya need from me? I've been a bit disappointed lately in my money security at BECU so to see this definitely rubs me the wrong way

I got multiple calls from this number. I answered one this morning and it a recorded person greeted me. Then, a second AI voice started a conversation with me adding when I became a BECU member. I didn't know. Then, wanted to "verify" my date of birth. No, ma'm. I hung up.
I got another call from then this afternoon! Instead of, "hello", I answered, "Oui" in case it was something that was triggered by, "hello". A real- sounding person older, middle-aged woman answered. She asked for me by name. *And said she couldn't tell me the reason for the call until she verified my info* (What?!) Then, asked when I became a BECU member! I said I didn't know. Then, asked date of birth. I hesitated and she said that she understood if I didn't want to give that info, so here's a number I could call back... (Well, it's their number, so no! I'll contact actual BECU and tell them about this scam!) DO NOT GIVE YOUR INFO! DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER BACK! SCAM!! Phishing scam.
