For what it's worth, I know that 206 number is based in Seattle, to a company called Cellco Partnership DBA Verizon, but that's the best I can do. It DOES route the caller back to a call center overseas. They call me and the wife about six times a day, telling us we qualify for a government grant. They then tell us to call this number: 360-200-0896 for more details, and explain the grant is taxable, and we may need to pay that tax, equal to $200-$400. The 360 number is traceable to a Company called Level 3 Communications, in Longview, WA. I suggest we harass them for once, and get their phone cut off.

This is a scam claiming to be US Grants. DO NOT give them money. Look it up on Google. I too have received numerous calls from 206-462-5294. YOU CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. The Federal Communication Commission (FCC) can help you. http://www.fcc.gov/guides/unwanted-telephone-marketing-calls

I also asked numerous times to be removed from their call list. Of course they never did. They are extremely rude. The last episode resulted in them hanging up on me several times after I requested to speak to a supervisor. There are several things you can do to stop these idiots. I went to the FCC website and there is a wealth of information regarding your rights under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. http://www.fcc.gov/guides/unwanted-telephone-marketing-calls One of which is they are required to provide an address to you when asked. Of course these b*****ds won't give it to you. You can also (very easily) add yourself to the "National do not call list". This used to be for home lines only but, now you can add cell numbers as well. You just need to call 888.382.1222 (also on the FCC website) or go to the website and do it online. After that you will need to wait 31 days to report them. Also telemarketers are not allowed to have pre-recorded messages or a delay longer than 2 seconds for a live person to answer. You can report these immediately by calling the same number 888.382.1222. I called and reported them. Lastly, I called my cell carrier to see if I could block the calls. I lucked out as Verizon is now offering free blocking for unwanted incoming calls (5 numbers for free). This will block incoming calls from that number to all of the lines on you account.

    Fight back. This is unacceptable.

Well for all I know your transactions might have gone bad. Because I received a call from 206 number too and they ask me to call back a number and I did. Yes there was a grants on my name. And I have it now. It was all easy process and there was a security deposit involved for our future security. That's what they said. I have already received me 6800$ grant. So yes it is genuine for me.
