Yeah, I got a call from them a few minutes ago.  It is a recorded message, urging me to reduce my interest rate on my credit card; such a deal, it won't last long.  The caller ID says PACIFICTEL.

I hung up immediately.  I only answered the phone because I was in the mood to mess with one of these callers but when they are a recording, you can't even have fun with them.  Damn.

I also immediately filed a complaint against them with www.donotcall.gov.

IN ORDER TO CROSS REFERENCE, I HAVE PROVIDED THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:

Just got a call from these [***] again.  This time, the caller id said:  FLORIDA and the phone number was 321-304-9999.

P.S.  Boy, that RACHEL chick really gets around...in the Pacific this morning, now in the Atlantic.  Must be nice.

Dug out the old "racheal from card services" recording for this call.   Press 1 for human, hang up when ask to remove or inquirer about company.      Many calls in the past two weeks from a variety of caller id numbers (assume they are faked).

As with everyone else, same recorded message, different phone number & name ID.  This time caller ID says "pacifictel".  Last month it said "pactel".  Before that the name ID was the name of a state such as "Florida", "Kansas", etc., and before that it was "toll free call", "wireless caller", and others.  Several different phone numbers often showed up under those different names.  They are very proficient at Caller ID spoofing.

 These scumbags goal is to get you to reveal your credit card information and your personal information.  What they do with it after that is very likely to cause you enormous grief.

 Don't bother attempting to be removed from their calling list.  Pressing any key on your phone merely confirms that your phone number is valid.  I use a device called 'Intelliscreener' to block them - either by number, or name.  It responds with SIT tones to tell the robo-dialer that this is a non-working number.  Unfortunately, this wonderful device is no longer being made.  If you can find a used one grab it!

PS  I really have to laugh at all the people who invoke the DNC list.  Since when did criminals start complying with laws??  The DNC list is honored only by LEGITIMATE companies doing LEGITIMATE business!

this number has called more than once but I just don't answer...get the credit card speel on my machine....my daughter even got a call from them and she doesn't even have a credit card...jerks.

We all need to start reporting calls to www.DoNotCall.gov.  Left hand side of the page under file a complaint.  I've reported this number twice now.

that rachel chick is pretty dumb. i even got her admit she was a scam artist. and she hung up when i asked " are you F***ing stupid?" have fun with it and make her feel like the moron piece of S#!t that she is.

I received an automated call from 206-496-0404 (PACIFICTEL) this PM, wanting me to reduce my credit card rate.  I too am on the national DNC list that Mr. OBUMMER fails to enforce.

You are wasting your time filing a complaint with the FTC (https://www.donotcall.gov), as they will DO NOTHING.  
The best solutions (my opinion);
a.    Intercept the call with caller ID and DO NOT ANSWER THE CALL.
                    OR
b.     Take the call and once you get a human on the line, ask them to “hang on a sec.”, put down the phone and continue doing your laundry.
                                                                             OR
c.    Take the call and once you get a human on the line; scream your head off into the receiver.

These routines may not stop the calls, but will give you a little laugh

The person who owns these #s appears to actually be Stephen Hamilton with a company called PacficTel not the phone company but a scammer telemarketign company. Mr. Hamilton's direct personal # is 310-895-0574 - feel free to call him and harrass him right back. The address associated with PacificTel is 12228 Venice Blfd. #559 Los Angeles CA 90066 - a scummy apartment area in East LA. Same thing here. I  have  counted  4   numbers so ofar caller just  said one was from  beaverton oregon. Girl's name is Rachel and  it is automated.   Seems like the more i pick up the more frequently they call. P.s. also DNC list. But I doubt this is a legit business since original company based i in Ecuador

I had a call from Pacifictel today with phone 503-572-2287.  Not the first call I've had but have told them to take me of the calling list as I do not have a credit card but it doesn't do any good. They hang up without a word. This location was in MN. I have also had calls from Flordia, Kansas, Seattle and other places. I keep reporting these calls to the DNC list but it doesn't stop.
