Independent Survey Group: callcenter located in Seattle Washington.  Claim to want a political *survey*.  SCAMMER. Block them.

Yet another area code 206 scammer.

206-496-0953  Constant calls to my cell phone.  No message left and when I call back the number is not in service. Just nuisance calls.

They called here, left no message. I did not answer.

Unwanted calls, no message left, appears to be robotic dialer.

Caller ID says IND SUR GROUP. I knew it was either a scam or political survey, and it was totally automated (illegal). Message claimed "we know you're concerned about the way the country's going..." and then assures me that I'll be compensated for my time with a free 2-day cruise, yada, yada.

Think about it peeps: if a survey group can afford to send everybody on a 2-day cruise, they could fix the economy instead just by writing a single cheque! In which case they would no longer need to exist because I'd have no qualms with the economy.

The irony is, their likely punter will be the very people who are suffering most from this economy and can least afford to be scammed out of their money.

Everytime I get one of these calls, I wish I could send a 1.1 gigabyte volt straight through my phone to their cave and fry them all.

This number just called our unlisted home phone number at 11:51AM, call ID display shows "IND SUR GROP".  We've been bombarded by these area code 206-496-XXXX within the past couple of weeks and I do not answer because they've all been reported as scam trying to obtain credit card information.  Another site said this number, and the others that are similar, are probably spoofed so reporting to Do Not Call isn't going to resolve anything.

These 2 "replies" I give have worked for me without failure, and the best is that it is legal to do. I was inundated with these types of calls; so, I went to Wally World(Walmart) and bought a whistle for $1.00, and a fog horn for a boat for about $4.00. I keep them near my phones; and when I get one of these calls, I do answer. When they start to say their B.S., I either blast them with the whistle or horn! Don't get any return calls from the #'s yet! Very satisfying feeling after I've been woken up numerous times by these callers. The other method I use is I tell them to "cease and desist all calls". I had a few that was looking for someone who's name wasn't anywhere near mine, didn't have any relatives, friends, etc. by the person they "were looking for" that I knew. The guys said this person had used my name as a reference, I told him to cease and desist all calls to me"..after I got their name. I told them I"d call the Atty. General if they called me again, and I haven't heard from them since. Both methods worked every time!
P.S. Everyone, robo calling is against the law in many states; google up your state website, and most have a tel. # specifically for the "robos"

Lol a Gigabyte volt? Someone didn't pay attention their grade school science classes. A byte and a volt are two different units of measurement.. "Giga" is just an SI prefix for 1 billion.

A 1.1 gigavolt would make much more sense, but I don't know where you would get such voltage.. Power lines generally carry less than 350,000 volts ( or 350 kilovolts)

They are attempting to present themselves as "Independent SURVEY group", implying they are conducting a "legitimate" (NOT!!!) survey, which would make them exempt from the DNC List rules.

(Incidentally, in the recent past they had trouble spelling 'Group" correctly and actually used "GROIP" and "GROP" on previous calls/phone numbers!)

They use the RUSE of a BOGUS Political Survey to then say the victim has 'won' a 'free' (NOT!!!!) cruise and then THEY WILL ASK FOR YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION.  If you are gullible enough to give them your financial info, you will have HUNDREDS of DOLLARS of charges placed on them for a QUESTIONABLE cruise opportunity, at best.  Good luck getting the charges removed; your credit card company will tell you that you participated freely and willingly.

THEY ARE NOT LEGITIMATE.  They are a CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE, possibly located in MALAYSIA (a **MUSLIM** FOREIGN COUNTRY in the PACIFIC OCEAN) and these calls are ILLEGAL CREDIT CARD/BANKING information PHISHING SCAMS attempting to get access to people's money ILLEGALLY.

I suspect they are connected to INTERNATIONAL RADICAL MUSLIM TERRORISM, which is why it is SO IMPORTANT that people DO NOT engage with them or give them ANY INFORMATION whatsoever.

Because they are OVERSEAS, it is nearly impossible for the US Government to act, other than internally blocking the U.S. numbers they use to SPOOF (HIDE their REAL, OVERSEAS numbers.)  They are not subject to the DNC list regulations, HOWEVER they ARE conducting INTERNATIONAL CRIME and CAN be pursued under those laws - IF the Feds can CATCH them somehow.

Best way to protect yourself is to NOT ANSWER, -OR- press "Ignore" on cell phones or pick up/hang up without answering.  May help reduce the number/frequency of the calls.

AND, KEEP FILING COMPLAINTS with the DNC list (its a pain, but it is our only LEGAL recourse, for now) after EACH and EVERY one of these calls.

THIS site is OK for venting and for researching what other people have experienced, but it will NOT help the authorities (Government) to ACT.  DNC list must get a certain number of complaints before they will take action to shut a number down.

Received a call on home phone from 360-474-3921 listed as Ind Sur Group. We pick up and hang the phone up without speaking if we are nearby, otherwise we let it ring until it goes to the machine - no message is left of course. Next got a call on my cell from 206-496-0953. We never answer unknown cell calls and no voicemails are left. Will be reporting both of these numbers to the FCC.

Called my Office.  When I answered, they hung up.

received a call from this number.  they did not leave a message on the machine.  am on no call list.
tried to call back immediately and was told the number was not in service

THIS COMPANY IND SUR GROUP keeps calling either they dont answer when I speak or a recording comes on offering cruises. Don't want and i dont care to go on a spam trip.
