Receiving calls...no one says anything...just air

got a call today (10/1/07).  got a long pause and then they hung up after after I said hello twice.  I called the number back and got a recorded message that said it was a mortgage services company.  pressed 0 for a rep. and got a recorded message that "all reps were busy and leave name and number and that they would call back".  left name and number w/ a message stating that I would contact the better business bureau if I received a call from them again.

10-12-07 Received two calls from this number within half an hour; when I picked up the phone I heard a dial tone both times.

get this call and nobody says. really disturbing

I did similar to "Skater" 10/01 - I get these all the time from this number as well.  When I called back had same experience.  Machine answers "mortgage services".  I have a question for anyone - are you getting these at your home or office numbers?  The reason why I asked is my number is an office location.

I do not want them to call my home phone.  We have illness in the family and it is quite disturbing to get these calls.

Same thing, no one on line after picking up.

I got a call Debt Sch, rang twice, we answered and they hung up. Do Not call these numbers back. If you have your name on the Do Not Call registry, calling themback may invalidate the registry. Once you call them, its like giving that particular company permission to call you back and usurps the registry.

I rec'd a call from this number 206-629-8606 on 11/19/07 @ 9;16 AM.
Thought i'd just check to see whats what so googled it and found that I am not the only one. Very annoying that someone would keep pulling this.... I hope this helps catch them!

The same here, get the call but no talk. I am wondering if this calls comes in to start an activation of something else in the phone system.

Multiple calls from 206-629-8606 showing as Dept Sch on the caller ID. When you call the number back it says welcome to MTG Services. As it lists the options, it says to be put on the company no call list press 2. I have left messages to have our number removed to no avail. I would like to know if the Public Utilities Commission is who I need to contact to report this company. Unfortunatly, as a place of business, I do not qualify for the No Call list.

Got a call from this number, and google search results pulled up many comments about calls from this number so I thought I would report it.

In searching whitepages.com, the results listed it as an unpublished or unavailable name and address listing.  It did provide that the number originates (or was obtained, if cell phone) in Richmond Beach, Washington and the Provider is Time Warner Telcom.

It's a telemarketer tryin to "consolidate" bills. The message they left me was so garbled and static-y...you can barely understand what's being said.

I answered the call and then it disconnected.  Called back and it was the Mortgage things also.  Intestingly, it came thru my work number.  Maybe a random thing.
