Got a call regarding a case file twice this AM...must be a scam

They said they was IRS and they been calling me, but I never got a call. They said the was filing a case against me. Why?

Caller left message they are IRS and they are filing a lawsuit against me.  I've always been told IRS never calls they write letter.

Same phony number on my cell phone,some line about 'trying to get ahold of us and that this is the IRS' [***]

They call telling me that I owe money to the IRS Electronic voice, it states they are starting court action (law suite) and that need to answer their request. I am tired of them calling day after day!

Just received a call from the same number stating they tried to call me 3 times and a lawsuit has been filed against me.
I definitely believe it is a scam. I said the same thing, the IRS writes and not calls and guess what I don't owe them anything.
It is designed to scare you into giving away personal information or sending money.

this is a phony call...I am a licensed CPA and also teach tax law...I have received calls on my cell phone from this number...here is what the IRS says (from www.IRS.gov)

The IRS will never:
•Call to demand immediate payment, nor will the agency call about taxes owed without first having mailed you a bill.

•Demand that you pay taxes without giving you the opportunity to question or appeal the amount they say you owe.

•Require you to use a specific payment method for your taxes, such as a prepaid debit card.

•Ask for credit or debit card numbers over the phone.

•Threaten to bring in local police or other law-enforcement groups to have you arrested for not paying.

If you get a phone call from someone claiming to be from the IRS and asking for money, here’s what you should do:

If you don’t owe taxes, or have no reason to think that you do:
•Do not give out any information. Hang up immediately.

•Contact TIGTA to report the call. Use their “IRS Impersonation Scam Reporting” web page. You can also call 800-366-4484.

•Report it to the Federal Trade Commission. Use the “FTC Complaint Assistant” on FTC.gov. Please add "IRS Telephone Scam" in the notes.

This number has called me 3 times so far today, IRS is going to sue me apparently. So sick of this.
