    IRS scammers from another country
I received a robotic message saying the the IRS is suing because they audited my taxes from 20120 through 2014. I called them back and they said they are with the Lawsuit Dept.  There is no such department within the IRS.  The  I started to question why I did not receive any notices from the IRS i  the mail, the so called 'Officer"  hung up.  I called again and questioned him and he hung up.  Who ever is calling from this number in Brunswick, ME  is a scammer and they should be arrested.

These guys are scammers.  totally fake. Do not give them your information.   I started questioning them and they got nervous and hung up....Then OMG, said they want to F my daughter and mother...and when I called back, they wanted to know why I keep calling them.   FYI, The IRS NEVER CALLS YOU.  They will contact you by mail if they ever need to.

Message was left claiming to be the IRS and there was to be a lawsuit filed against me.i called back and a pervert answered and explicitly described what he was going to do to my daughter. Perhaps I need to file a police report against this number.

Keep getting messages to call as IRS is filing a suit against me. Final notice. I just called them back and asked him why they keep saying final notice and then call again. I explained what final meant and hung up.

This number has left 2 messages today, saying it was their final notice to help with a Suit filed against us.  They did not say it was the IRS ... but I was hit with a very strange "Security Notice" yesterday, and they used a "comcast" reference ... and we DO have a Comcast account.  It MUST be a scam!  How do we stop them???

I just received the same call. It is a recorded message stating the IRS is filing a law suit against me. The IRS only uses USPS for communication.

    SERIOUS SCAMMERS:  BEWARE

    https://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/IRS-Warns-of-Pervasive-Telephone-Scam

I got a phone call to my cell phone and called from a Google Voice number.  The first time I called, the guy screamed at me to "put my d**k in your mouth!" about 5 times because I asked who it was that was calling me instead of giving him my name as he requested.  He has an Indian accent and it's always the same people.

When I called them back a second time, I gave a false name and phone number, and he reads me this long script about how my taxes from 2012-2014 are wrong and that they are calling from the IRS Auditing Department, that I still owe a bunch of money, and that "the local authorities" are coming for me with an arrest warrant.  I laughed at him and hung up.   He identified himself as "John Steele" which is preposterous enough for a white guy, let alone someone with such a thick Indian accent.

Same number called me today, twice.  Most recently just 3 minutes ago.  First time the number came through from Brunswick, ME. I don't know anyone from Maine so I didn't answer; figuring it was a wrong number.  They left a recorded message saying that the IRS is filing law suits agains me and that I need to call the IRS back at their given number.  Second time it was a foreign number and said it was from Egypt but on my voice message screen it says it's from Brunswick, ME.  They left the same recorded message.  It's just creepy that they would be so persistent.  Is there any way to report this?  I have both of the numbers in my phone.

Robot voice saying "IRS is filing lawsuits against you. To find out more about your case file call 207-449-6931 ... " What a bunch of BS and these people should be hanged. I presume you call back and they say to send them money or else. Some poor person will respond to this obvious phishing scam and unfortunately lose money. Amazing that we could tap phones in the 1970s but can't track these criminals down in 2016.

    UnScammed
Ok, haha funny / phone scam alert... Just got a call on my cell from 207-449-6931. Was on the phone, so it went to voice mail. The message said, in a very ominous tone "Call our division at 207-449-6931, I repeat..."
So (cuz I was ascared!) I called back. A gentleman (I use that term loosely) answered "Internal Revenue Service". Yes, now the game was afoot!
I said "Yes, your office left me a message." He said he needed to verify my identity, so I told him my name was "Martin Smith". He put me on hold to "pull up my case file" and then came back to tell me that the IRS was preparing a lawsuit against me because I owed $5717 in back taxes because my 2010 - 2013 takes were wrong.
I said "Oh no." He then told me he was going to read me something and not to interrupt him while he read it. So, of course, I interrupted him all the way through. After he read it, he then asked me "Did you defraud the IRS intentionally or unintentionally." My response: "Oh, I did it on purpose. I like to commit fraud against the government every chance I get."
I think he suspected that I was on to him because his next question was "Do you know where your wife is?" I told him I didn't, and that I hadn't seen her for 3 years. He then said "Shes right here, <bleep>ing my <bleep>."
I said, oh, wow, you finally found her. Now I finally know where she is. Then he told me my mom was there too, just before hanging up on me! (No way. Mom's at my house doing some gardening in the backyard!) lol
