Report a phone call from 207-598-4867 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- AnonymousGot a call from this number today. After I said hello, an automated voice said "goodbye" and then the call disconnected. After looking up the number, others said it was a scam in which the caller claimed to be from Microsoft. Interestingly, I previously received a call like this from a blocked number with an Indian voice on the other end. I told them to remove our number from their calling list, so maybe that is why I only got a "goodbye" upon answering this time.
- Caller: Fake Microsoft
- Sam| 1 replyI just received at call from (207) 598-4867, a male on the other end asked is this a office? When I said yes he told me that I had won free office supplies, then he asked me for my credit card number to cover the shipping.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- ANGRY| 1 replyThese calls actually come mostly from India or Africa and they use different caller ID's. So even if your caller ID indicates a call from this number within the US, the call is coming from abroad. They are criminals who pretend they are from Microsoft and tell you your computer has a problem and they can fix it immediately online, but of course, they need your credit card information for "verification purposes". Unfortunately, you have no legal power to sue them because they are not in the US.
All you can do is to tell them something nasty and hang up.- Caller: Criminals
- Susan| 2 repliesGuy with accent keeps calling 2 times day. We have told him not to call repeatedly. He says something about computer problems, have told him we don't have computer problems. He keeps calling back. We told him we are going to report him to police. He also calls under ID no. 000-000-0000 besides this no. 207-598-4867 How can you stop these harassing calls?

- American Citizen[***] with an Indian accent called saying my computer has problems and "are you sitting in front of your computer now?" When I said, "yes," he says, "What are you seeing? We are getting reports that your e-mail is corrupted." I said to him, "I'm looking at Dolly Parton's boobs. You ought'a see these things!" (I was listening to her on youtube) He said, "please watch your language." I said, "why don't you go [***] yourself?" He had said he was from "Microsoft" and was calling to help fix out computer. Since then I have gotten 3 calls from the same number, or "restricted" that just say, "Goodbye" and then hang up.
I'm going to block this number through my Time Warner Cable account. There is a spot there to do this if you go to the website.- Caller: No Name

Caller ID: Cell Phone ME
Probable Foreign Computer SCAM ARTISTs .... - SteveJust received call from 207-598-4867 (ID U.S. Cellular) Introduced himself as Roger (Heavy South Asia accent) Told me th same odd song and dance of how my computer had informed them that it was infected and I needed their help to solve it. Informed him I thought it was funny since I run Ubuntu - at that point he got confused and insisted I ran Windows It took me several minutes to convince him I use Linux he then could not hang up fast enough. Was ready for the call since we had received numerous (good bye hang ups over the past few days from 952-467-6390 which is part of the same scam.
- Caller: "Microsoft Support" Ha Ha
- Call type: Telemarketer
- GailWI'm getting these calls four and five times a day this week. The caller ID Says Cell Phone. ME. I don't normally answer these calls but let them go to voice mail because I know that if it's a legitimate call that I should call back, they will leave a message. If they don't leave a message, that indicates it's either a robocall or someone I didn't want or need to talk to anyway.
Because this caller kept calling me once an hour, I tried calling the number back. After I dialed the number, there was dead silence for about 10 seconds. Then I heard a recording of a man saying: G30 This is U.S. Cellular. You have reached a number that is no longer in service. If you feel you have reached this number in error, hang up and dial again." Then the recording was repeated.
Someone somewhere in India, Nigeria, Romania, the Ukraine or where ever is using a U.S. Celluar phone probably purchased in the United States to make these calls. I'm sure this is a greeting they've programmed in case someone tries to call them back.
Unfortunately, since they are using cell phones purchased in the U.S. with phone numbers that look like they are coming from inside the United States but they are actually coming from who knows where, there is nothing that can be done.
From now on, when I see this number on my caller ID, I'll just pick up the phone and hang it right back up again BEFORE the phone has stopped ringing and had a chance to go to voice mail. This gives the caller's phone the impression they've reached a disconnected phone because the call won't go through. If you do this, the caller WILL eventually stop calling. This DOES work. I do it with other callers I know are either telemarketers, political calls or probably scammers. - ruthrichYesterday, 3 calls within 45 minutes. I don't answer any calls with numbers I don't recognize. Eventually, they give up. Also had multiple calls from 3 other numbers - busy day! DNC registries work to some degree but these scammers are not intimidated by threats of fines. Sadly, they do connect with people who are taken in by their tactics. The scam must be working or it would have died a long time ago!
- RickAnyone here downloaded and test free OS? I wander if it is related to these calls
- AnnoyedI got a call from this number today and when I picked up there was a person on the other end with an Indian accent saying that they were calling from Microsoft Windows.
I am a System Administrator and know that MS DOES outsource some of their tech support to India, however, Microsoft will NEVER call you (not even if you have a stolen version of Windows). Also, Microsoft is the company, not Microsoft Windows. Windows is a product so they cannot be calling from MS Windows. That's like someone calling from Honda Civic.
The person on the phone said he was calling because my computer reported that it had downloaded a virus and reported it to Microsoft. The first problem with this is that Windows doesn't have a way to know a virus has been downloaded. Second, any and all information sent to Microsoft is anonymous so they wouldn't have a way to know your number. I told him that I didn't believe him and he insisted that my computer told him to call.
I simply told him that I know the call was a scam and hung up on him.
Please be informed everyone:
MS will never call you unless you called to open a support ticket.
MS has nothing to do with antivirus.
All information reported to MS is anonymous. They will not have your name, your address, phone number.
If you want to mess with the person, ask them what program sent the information. Whatever they say, tell them they're lying. Ask them what is the computer name that reported the problem since you have more than one computer. Then don't forget to tell them that you will be reporting their number and to add you to the do not call list. This is clearly not a legit business so they won't actually have a do not call list but hopefully they have some way to know not to bother calling again.- Caller: Fraudulent

- AnonymGot a call from this number last week and honestly - I didn't say a word - heard a click - then I went "This is a private unlisted, unpublished phone number! Get the F off of it!" Yep, that's what I said! They haven't called back at all! LOL I figure they want to call a private unpublished number, they take a chance on whatever they might hear! Oh well!
