Got a call from them on May 1st, told them I wasn't interested in giving them any information and to take my name off their call list. I am on a do not call list, so hope someone can do something about them.  They called again today (May 4), didn't answer it and they didn't leave message.

received two calls. they left no message on the i.d.i am on the no call list but that is just a lot of ****. the next time they call i will give a good reason not to call again

These folks have been calling us.  The first time they said they were from the CDC and wanted to speak to the oldest male household member.  I said he was at work.  Each time they called he wasn't here, but tonight they said they were from the Vermont Department of Health, which of course is closed for business at this time of night!

I'm going to let our DoH know about this, as well as anyone else who will listen.

they called tonite---sunday, of course--when the idiot said they wanted information for the nys health dept, then asked if that was my number, i said no, and hung up.    the phone cos are at it again, and they should all be fined!  i am keeping track of every call i get, and the time and dates.   i have an unlisted number too!  what good is it?   write to the atty general.

We've been getting one or two calls a day from this research company for 3 weeks or more.  We did not answer for two weeks but it was getting ridiculous.  They told my wife they wanted to speak with the oldest make in the household for a NY Dept of Health survey.  Next time I had a chance to talk, I answered and told them I did not want to participate in the survey, please take us off their call list, and never call back.  Unbelievably, they called twice the very next day!  When i got home, I called the number on caller ID, selected the options for the appropriate survey, then selected the option to speak with a supervisor.  I expressed my displeasure.  She explained that they need two negative confirmations before they stop calling.  I gave her my second and asked that they never call again.  She agreed that she would remove me from the survey.  I highly advise calling them if you are bothered by these calls.  It took two minutes or less to put an end to it.

This company has called my phone at least a dozen times in the last few weeks.  I am on the donotcall list and would like something done about this intruder.

i got a few calls from this number as well as several others, it really puts the caller off balance when you answer as another (fake) telemarketer and try to sell them something or tell them "This is a secure U.S. Military line and we are tracing this call, you have 8 seconds to hang up or be arrested for interferecne with a govorment offical...." and see how long it takes to for them to hang up.

They have been calling our house phone and I don't know what they want. They don't leave message or say nothing. I do wish for them to stop calling our number. We are on a do not call list for this home phone number.

You should all call your state health departments about this. I called my local health department and they offered me results for the survey as well.  Clearwater Research is contracted through them to do surveys with your tax dollars. Maybe you should find out about them before you start talking all this nonsense. I did a survey and it wasnt that bad. I know if there is something that I can do to affect what is being done with my tax dollars I am going to do it.

This company has been calling at least once a day for the past several weeks.  Sometimes thay call multiple times.  I don't bother answering.  My number is on the "Do Not Call List".

Yes this is Clearwater Research.  I have been receiving computer dialing calls from this number for the past month.  I get between 2 to 15 calls a day from them.  They are on my block list so I get the initial call, then my phone blocks them.  I love this feature on my phone system.

I am an employee of Clearwater Research. What I read here is truly scary and pathetic.  The company does research for the CDC and State Health Departments across the United States and are hired to do so.
It is completely anonymous for those called.  The computer system takes the state area code and prefix then generates every possible number combination.  Initially, when the survey for your state is new, many Ph #'s are found to be no longer in service, business, etc. Some answering machines do not indicate whether it is a private residence or a business line--therefore the number is called till a person answers. NO ONE receives 4-5 calls a day or 13 or whatever.  You are lying for effect. You get called till you give a viable reason why you should not. The interviewer asks for how many adults over the age or 18 and how many are men and how many are women, is so the computer can randomly select who is to be interviewed.  It is a scientific survey looking for a good cross sample of all adults and both sexes. This is not the fault of the caller/interviewer, but a requirement of the client that Clearwater Research has the contract with...such as the Center for Disease Control and Prevention as well as the State Health Department where you live.  The Health Departments and CDC have been  doing this for 25 years! There is no list to be removed from and you likely will be called when your state runs a new survey at a later date as no records are kept of Ph #'s
You are never asked any question that can identify you such as last name address etc. even your    Ph #  is removed from the data collected when the call is over.  When you are watching TV and the news anchor says: "Today the CDC reports that men/women from ages 35 to 60 (for example) are at high risk for...." this is where that info comes from!  So calm down. By the way, isn't ranting and or lying about a subject the least effective way to solve it? People like this are the least educated in our country. This line of thinking gives us the poor representatives that we have in elected office today.
Why, because you will believe a lie before listening to simple facts. Burn the witch sort of thing. Get a life.

Maybe you should find out why we want the government to but out of our lives, and stop wasting our money.

What is scary and pathetic is that folks like you think what you are doing is okay, and that anyone who objects to it must be "scary and pathetic".  There are many valid reasons why thoughtful, reasonable, and educated people might object to this sort of activity.

Get a clue.

More 'make work' for the government sector funded with our tax dollars imho.  A result of an 'entitlement'  gov't gone completely out of their fiscal minds.

'd like to know why the federal (CDC) or state government (Texas Department of State Health) has assumed responsibility for monitoring the health and behavior of its citizenry.  Last time I checked, government was charged with a very limited and specific role according to the US Constitution and any state constitution.  

I'd also like to know why the need to obfuscate.  We have received two calls a day for the last 6 weeks in addition to multiple letters via snail mail.  The first call of the day always comes from the Texas Department of State Health and when we decline to provide personal information (yes, health status and behavior IS personal information and no, the above described methods do not prevent the gov't or its contractors from identifying the respondent), we receive a second call within hours from someone identifying themself as surveying on behalf of the CDC.  They always want the same exact thing...to speak with the 'second oldest female' in the home.   So which is it?  Is this survey for my state gov't or the federal gov't?

So, who in the hell is the CDC? The worldwide effort to control malaria led to the creation of the CDC in 1946. Since then, the CDC has established itself as the tip of the sword in the  world's healthcare efforts to prevent and control infectious and chronic diseases, injuries, workplace hazards, disabilities, and environmental health threats. Today, CDC is globally recognized for conducting research and investigations and for its action oriented approach. CDC applies research and findings to improve people’s daily lives and responds to health emergencies.

Did you catch the shocking "news"? Surveying by phone since 1984!! 26 years people. Lions and tigers oh my!  So go panic over what really matters...your government is up to far far worse around the globe.
