Just got called from this number.
Says they are from the hartford insurance company, and wanted to ask questions about service.
Why does the caller id show  MARC, and not the hartford?

I would not speak to these people.

Same number says ORC for caller ID. Didn't answer.

After I Googled many sites regarding this telephone number, I then Googled ORC and found : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opinion_Research_Corporation.
I found this # as being part of the ORC--Opinion Research Corp.

They have done CNN & political polls of which many of us rec'd 20-30 calls a day on our home phones from both parties during Aug-November! Now our cellphones?
I hope you kept your lists & like me, forwarding them to our Congresspeople to overwhelm them to have to do something about these harrassing calls when we are on a DoNotCall list or on our restricted cell service they aren't permitted to call - but get a number and like robo calls maybe dial them all. Unless they have someone like a Verizon employee (?) feeding them our numbers which I doubt.

They have a site with poll results taken if you want to do further political checking. I also found this # as being from Brainerd,MN. & another comment as them being Leap Wireless Intl., Inc., DBA Cricket Comm., Inc. I am so sick of all these harrassing calls! The only other way I read to try to stop them is to do the following. In meantime, have a Happy Thanksgiving holiday.

How do I stop them from calling?
1.    Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
2.    If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
3.    Block them with a call blocker:
o     Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
o     Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
o     JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Received call on my cell phone. Woman was conducting a survey for CNN. I asked her to please do not call this number again. She seemed surprised by my request.

They now show up as STAMATS also

Called me six times today... should i answer and say do not call again? does that work?

I'M getting calls to further my education and when REFUSE the offer and asked to be removed from their calling list ..I'M mocked and because the number only appears as 208 ... I cnt call and complain because only 208  comes across my cellular caller id and the calls become a daily taunt from the 208 caller and the calls become excessive daily.. How can these calls exist ? How can I find out the full 10 digits and how  is it my 10 digit personal num is available to these callers yet their numbers are concealed ?

I received this call at 9:20pm. I refused to speak to any ghost caller so late

Just received a called from this number claiming to be Hartford Ins. Co. (which we are an existing customer of btw)  The lady kept asking me for the "decision maker" and that was looking for feedback.  When I told her we are already a customer she then kept asking me for name information and spelling of company name???...my reply was "shouldn't you already knows this if we are your customer?"  I then gently placed her on "hold"  

No voicemail but marked urgent. Never answer a call from a number you don't know. Once you answer, they put you on an active list which they sell to other scammers.

Called during dinner again. Have told everyone I know not to take calls from area code 208 Idaho because it's either a total scam or a very rude survey taker. Don't answer a call from these jerks!

Daily caller. Amusing and now number logged in with local Police Department. Told when caught, I may make a few bucks. Or make a nice story on local news.

These people must really like me -- they really like me! Because they call every freaking night usually during dinner. Always marked urgent but no voicemail.
