Got a call from this number claiming this was a police officer " jack" and he says that the call
Was in reference to someone using my social security number. He proceeded to spew out
What it was and even asked for the name of my attorney
So that he could assist in stopping this fraud. I told him that I am not going
To verify anything and that until I get clarity that I will get him the name of
My policeman friend as well as that of my attorney. He tried then to try and fool me and
Pacify me by stating fine, can I send the information to the following address.
Before he could even finish I was almost yelling trying to tell this person that I am not
Going to verify anything, cause apparently he was deaf right? I guess I upset him
That he practically hung up on me by saying fine, fine ma'am, good bye. Fair warning to all out
There. Beware that anybody can google you, and get your personal
Data nowadays. Never cofirm, and get identification protection!!! Total scam artist!!!

I received several calls from this number. They had claimed that my home computor had sent on its own warning messages to their server. They wanted me to open my computor and they would tell me how to get rid of the virus.

I, had a call from this number ,  the person calling said he was a representative of medicare and he need it more information from me.

a guy named Sam claiming to be computer support told me my computer was infected and told me to open my  eventvwr for evidence of that and invited me to a website for remote support.  When asked for a company name and phone number they provided me the name gtech support and a local phone number in my area code (which was not in service)

Called at 5:30am and didn't leave a message!

Got a call from this # guy wanted to give us a $400 gift card for walmart, but then wanted us to pay to send it, said he was from arkansa.  REALLY?  Sounded indian or pakastani a little.

I got a call form this number claiming to be an IT company, he wanted me to put my computer on he said that my computer was running slow as a program had accesses my windows and was slowly destroying the windows software I told him that I wasn’t having any problems and he got quirt forceful so I put the phone down. There is no way that I’m going to let anyone access my computer, In fact my computer has started to run painfully slowly over the last two months.

I got a call when they asked if I was Mrs.... I said no and he hung up.... more research on the net shows that this is a fraudulent call... Don't give them any information.... beside anyone that would hang up on you is not worth the time.

Too funny.  Guy calls and has me open event viewer to show error messages so he can fix my computer running slowly.  And then wants me to launch www.3wc.areyourpc.com so he can remote control my PC.  When I stated that he must be high and asked who he was, he said "my father" and that he was going to "f* my mother".  Nice.

Just got a call from a east Indian or such asking for someone, after a verbal tennis game where I 'Matched' him with Who are you...he claimed to be 'Frank' so I asked Frank who he was with... Long silence and a hang up! This is for sure a scam and I pity the one that gives this joker any info at all. Wish there was a way to shut these crooks down, but alas, there will be more that start up. Sad!

received many calls over the period of a week and no one was on the other end and i have an out of state area code too

As of today they called me an informed me that I was going to jail for not sending them payment! WOW when asked who this is they  said the IRS and that I was a crook. Well funny when I call back the number is false. Hope more people make sure they dont fall for this.

Hello, i was called just a minute ago. I am from the netherlands btw. He told me that my pc was infected en needed to take over the pc. When i told him that i didn`t trusted him, he freaked out. i wasted his time and he should call me every f@cking day!! The weird thing is that he knew my home adres, phonenumber and name. how can that be possible for someone in india???

I just got a call from some [***] or indian who the hell knows these days. Kept asking if I am so an so. I am not about to let some abrupt idiot like him intimdate me so hung up. this is the second time in two days I know the number goes back to California but I live in Nova Scotia Canada.

My mom got a call from 206-397-1126 and 209-220-1908 numbers today. It was a man with a thick accent claiming that her computer was sending out viruses and he would help her install some antivirus/malware software to stop it. All she had to do was to go to the computer and he would guide her through it. After telling him she doesn't know anything about computers he left a name and phone number (the number was 510-281-1179 which actually appears to be a legitimate windows support company).

After hearing her story and conversation I knew it was a scam. How does this guy know the IP address of the computer and trace it back to someone with a name and phone number? If it were so easy all the bad guys lurking around on the internet would be in jail. Your internet service provider is the only one that knows this information and you need a court order to get it from them.

When the scammers called back she was able to confront the man and threatened to report this to the local police as a scam. He hung up.

Call from this numbers from a female with and Indian (Asian) accent. Said my computer was generating error messages and some more unintellible dribble. I aske where she was calling
from and who she was and she did not reply and I don't think she hung up, but would not
speak any more. I hung up and did a search on the name on the caller this sight came up.

I received a call from this number. I am sure glad I didn't answer it. Thanks to everyone who posts info about fraudulent/scam phone calls.

Just got a call from this number, guy had Indian accent, asked to speak to the person in charge of the debit machine, when I told him we didn't have one, he said bye and hung up.

Got a call from this No . Guy who call me named Peter. He said that he is calling from Computer dep. and they noticed from last few days that I downloaded so many junk files and Viruses in my computer.. They guy wants me to perform some task with my computer so  that he can help me.. I clearly told him that I will not do anything in my computer... I think he might be a hacker who wants to steal my computer data ....

Peter called me just now to tell me he calling for Windows technical support. He had hardly any accent which is unusual. Normally these callers sound like  they are speaking Urdu or Hindi. I just tell them, "what computer?" "I don't have a computer?" "Computers are the devil's handiwork" etc. It gets them off the line.
