Got my first call from them Aug. 24.  I didn't answer.  They left no msg after my answering machine clicked on.

We got this call but didn't pick up. I called it back and used *67 and then it was a telemarketer. We are on the National Do Not Call list.

They called TONIGHT, while we are already alert and watching for those "Reverse 911 calls." My husband is a cop, and we also thought it was possible he was getting called in, after working 11 hours and being asked to come in early tomorrow.

We were actually HAPPY when they hung up on him! SOBs!

wanted a commitment of a dollar amount before they would send info in the mail, i'm too nice and said call back tommorow.

500,000 people evacuated from San Diego. Our house phone is rarely used, with the fires still going. The only phone call that could possibly be coming in at 7pm on that phone would be reverse911. I was wrong. Did not get to the phone in time and we have no use for an answering machine for that phone. Tried calling back, got a busy signal, did web search and discovered this website. Now I want nothing more than to hire a lawyer and sue the crap out of them.

I also got this call about 7:16pm oct 25 2007, no messege was left on machine.
If you do pick up tell the person to send a uniformed officer to pick up the donation!.... otherwise f*@k off

Is this legal?  I'm on the national do not call registry.  They call several times a night...usually it's just a hangup.

They called me a 7:30PM. I didn't annwered. I am on the do-not-call list. What is the problem with this people? Cn't they respect our privacy?

I have filed a complaint with the FCC on their website (www.fcc.gov   navigate to complaints). I suggest everyone else do the same. The FCC will take action. I know because I have filed other complaints and had action taken.

My 16 year old got the call, he answered in english and they replied in spanish, and asked are your parents home? ofcourse he said no, I come home and he says, mom the police called, and ofcourse you worry and think the worst, so I look this up and find all these complaints, tell your kids don't give out your name.  My number is privete I don't know how they got it.

Got annoying phone calls?  Get a "Tele-Zapper!"  I have one of these devices.  It generates those phone company alert tones, that usually disconnects those automated calls (by a computer dialer) to your number.  The rest of those calls that are made by a real person... they usually hang-up, because they think the tones will be followed by a message that the number has been disconnected.

It works great!  I highly recommend getting one!!!

P.S.  You'll have to let all of your friends know not to be alarmed when they call you and they hear those tones.  Most of my friends hung-up the phone the very first time, because they thought they miss-dialed my number!

Received call 6:34PM - answering machine picked-up - No message left, only ID. Have unlisted # and am on DO NOT CALL LIST, evidently this is not working. The number is now blocked.

They call constantly...I ususally don't answer and they usually don't leave a message (I've told them not to call before).  But, this time (tonight at 6:30pm), they did!  It was some young kid who was making fun of my message telling my dog to call them back.  They said, "Hey ____, it's Icky...give me a hollar dude."  So annoying.  We are also on the Do Not Call List.  They have no respect for privacy.  I like the idea of blocking the number!

Unfortunately "charities" can still call when you are on the Do Not Call Registry.

When they called couple of month ago, unfortunately I was home and answered.
They wanted me to say yes to the dollar amount they suggested and I kept on telling them that I'd have to ask my husband about it.
They were so persistent and I was very irritated.
Now I came home tonight and saw the CPYC on caller ID of answering machine.
All I could hear was breathing sound!

Just got the call at 8:58pm CA time on 5-06-08. tried to call it back but no one picked up. Caller ID said CA POLICE YC. what does it meen I dont'nt know. The call came in once and I picked up but got the hang up click when I said hello. I have Comcast...is there a connection?

I missed a call from this number and noticed it was a norCal area code.  I have friends in that area, so I thought one of my friends was calling from their work or something.  Good thing I Googled the number before calling it back.  Thanks for the info everybody!

I recently moved from the 209 to San Diego, so I thought it was someone I knew calling. But the caller ID said "CDYC" which I didnt recognize, so I googled it and found this site. Good info everybody! Thanks.
