They are involved with  IRS. Scam. Called me today I was not fooled. Beware!

They left a garbled voicemail to not ignore the message and to call right away so there is no further action taken against me.  Obviously, if they can't leave a name of the company or an individual to call back....I'm not calling!

BEWARE! Don't bother to call back they are SCAM!

I am reporting all of these numbers to the FCC.  I've been getting at least 1 call per day from a scammer.  Different numbers/different area codes.  NOT anwering and blocking that particular number although I know it's basically futile.

Recieved 2 calls that  must call back, Internal Revenue Service but I call from a land line and not a working numbers..
209890-8970 and 209890-8972

Received a call from 209-890-8972 at 12:57. No message left. I tried to call back and they answered Internal Revenue Service

The called left a very garbled voicemail to not ignore the message and to call right away so there is no further action taken against me.  Called my cell from 209-890-8972 also showed in the Caller ID this way.

Left on my answering machine: voice to text:

"From internal revenue service and the hotline to my division is 209-890-8972. I repeat it's 209898972 disregard this message and do return the call before we take any action against you. Goodbye and take care."
As an added note, I called this phone number again for fun (from a number to which he cannot call me back) and told them they should try to make money through more legitimate methods.  I told them they were idiots and this phone number is all over the internet as a scam and has been reported to the IRS.  He started trying to have phone sex with me!!!  I played along because it became ridiculously funny.  So the IRS thing was obviously completely abandoned and the [***] tried telling me I was his ex-girlfriend and wanted to know details about my age and body... what a bunch of fools.  I told them to Google themselves and try something new.  He would have talked to me forever.  I hung up after I had my fun with it.

got a call from 2098908972 caller said she was IRS special agent mickey Johnson and that I should call and ask for badge # etc. and that it was an important matter.  I called the IRS and reported the call.  Agent says IRS does not call you that you will receive the info in the mail.  After irs sends lots of mail about the issue they might call you.

Do not give out any info on the phone to these irs agent impersonators.  Just hang up.  Beware they are targeting the elderly.

They called me 8 times between June 1st and June 3rd. I missed the 1st call and recieved a regular voice message to call back the IRS, so I called them back. I immediately knew it was a scam when they guy answered with a simple hello. He asked for my name, I gave it. He asked for the last 4 and I asked why does he need it and THATS when he stated he was with the "IRS". I told him I am not verifying the last 4 of my social; if he was the IRS he should already have it. He gave me the whole legal mumbo jumbo and I told him he still isn't getting my social because he's a scammer then I hung up. I blocked their number, but the iPhone still lets you know who on your blocked number list called. They called 6 more times after that, but they used the automated message instead of an actual voice message.

I got a call from this number this morning. thank you for all of your reports.. I know not to answer the call.

I didn't like the fact it told me I was gonna be in trouble if I didn't take action.

Bert.   I have been getting the same phone calls. Sounds like they are from India..They say IRS, and I say [***], and hang up...dial them back and harrass them, they do answer..It is a scam.

But when the left a message they said they were from the IRS. I called the number back some Indian guy picked up ask me for my name then ask me for my social what is the what is he crazy then he said well and hang up so I did be warned this is a scam

I made the caller aware that I new it was a scam and he said "[***] you, [***]. I want to [***] you." Absolutely disgusting.

Same number as the other posts.  Didn't sound credible.

same here - 209-890-8972. used to call me with heavy accent with the same message saying he's "John Smith" or whatever.....i said you don't sound like a John Smith to me....asked him for the call back number, googled it while he was on the phone.....told him he's busted cuz we're on to you!
however, now trying it with automated call to cover up accent and seem more "official".
keep reporting these to help others not get scammed!

The message claimed to be the IRS and they will be taking action against me if I don't call back.

I've had REAL dealings with the IRS over tax discrepancies, so I knew that the call from 209-890-8972 was a phoney.  Real IRS contacts you by mail initially and then you can talk by phone with them if you are a glutton for punishment.

Websites like this provide a very valuable service.  Use them whenever you have any suspicions about a call.

Very garbled message left.   No plan to call it back, regardless of threat to take action.   What a scam.   So thankful we are all on to them!
