This number called my company and told an employee that they had been given permission to change my phone service.

THIS WAS NEVER AUTHORIZED.  I have no idea who they are or what is going on.

This number called, and posed as AT&T saying they needed me to verify my accounts because they were trying to reduce overcharges on our phone lines.  Lisa Weintraub told me I needed to verify our phone numbers for security sake, and then say yes to a series of questions.  I tried calling back this phone number, and it is an automated system.  They really sounded legit.  I called AT& T to ask them what to do, and they told me to chack our phone bills, and that AT&T would never call like that.

SCAM ALERT.....this company LDCB(Long Distance Consolidated Billing) called me posing as AT&T and stated for me to agree to switch to CONSOLIDATED BILLING to reduce my long distance bill. They said it was like a new type of billing NOT going to a totally different company.

HANG UP IF THEY CALL AS THEY ARE TRYING TO SLAM YOUR PHONE SERVICE.

This number called me today and offered me a good deal on my phone service and it sounded to good to be true. They asked to record the call, of course everything is recorded these days and I accepted it. They had all my phone information from phone book listing to my full name and number. Always looking for a cheeper rate. What are they trying to do and what are they getting out of doing this to people? Offered me $10 cheaper rate for my long distance, it hit me after I got off the phone, I do not have long distance.

We received a call from this LDCB (Long Distance Consolidated Billing) scam company and unfortunately an after hours business employee picked up. Like the rest, they posed as an official ATT representative and quickly talked/tricked/deceived the employee into authorizing changes to be made. Funny thing is, this employee has NO authority to change / authorize anything within the company. But yet it appears LDCB only needs someone, anyone that is unsuspecting to just say yes and the deed is done - freaking pathetic!

This LDCB company is a plague and preys on unsuspecting individuals to take advantage. And uses very disgusting tactics to say the least!

If you get a call from these scum bags - tell them to take a hike and blow a loud whistle into the phone. Don't fall for this scam!

I received a call from this number. Guy said he was hired on behalf of Verizon and that there was a notice with my January bill that LDCB — long-distance consolidated billing — was being set by mandate, and customers had until April to sign over to continue to receive only one bill from their same provider, or would start receiving separate bills from Enterprise. Caller was very savvy and "helpful."

Just spoke with these people also.  Said they were not representatives for, but employees of CenturyLink and mentioned a significant credit to our bill and such.
I hate getting lied to.  Agree with others to just hang up on them.
    It's a slam scam.

Hi, so what did you do to get out of the situation that the employee agreed to? Did you have to go through the process and cancel them?

Today they've called 11x, lady says her name is Leslie.  Do not talk to them as they are trying to scam all of us. I can't even run my company because they keep calling and hanging up. It's nuts if I was in TX I'd pay them a visit.

We received a call from this LDCB (Long Distance Consolidated Billing) company just a few minutes ago. A "Mary Harris" (claiming to be Operator 146) posed as an official AT&T representative (I asked repeatedly if the person I was speaking with was AT&T and not a 3rd party, and she flat-out LIED and said that she was with AT&T, not an affiliate or third-party). She spoke quickly and sounded professional and believable, trying to deceive us into authorizing changes to our phone bill.

She stated that the AT&T dropped their old long distance carrier & that the Long Distance Consolidated Billing group was the new one taking its place. She stated that this notice was sent to us in December, 2012 with our AT&T December bill (not as a part of the bill, as AT&T always informs its patrons, but as a separate piece of paper entirely - this had my instincts telling me "NOT RIGHT" from the get-go). She then said that TODAY, coincidentally, happened to be the drop-dead date to let them know if we agreed to this change or not. Let me be straight here: I keep every scrap of paper that comes with our bills (even those paper-wasting ads), and there was no such information paper from AT&T stating such a thing. When I explained this to "Mary", she blithely skipped over that, and stated that what mattered was that I had to make a decision verbally by today, otherwise I would have to wait until next month's separate bills showed up - one for long distance, one for every other phone service - and then pay an extra "small fee" to switch back to one consolidated bill. When I asked how much the small fee was, she couldn't tell me an amount. When I asked if I could get this in writing via fax or email, she stated they couldn't do such a thing, but they could mail us something... but if we did this, we'd miss the drop dead date and so our bills would be separate next month - and we couldn't take advantage of the savings they were offering.

I went through the entire talk with "Mary", still very doubtful, but she gave it a good pitch. I got to a "verification group" who asked me a lot of questions (questions which "Mary" coached me to answer "yes" to all of them, regardless of what was being said, because "they can't change their script for every customer's individual bill issues, so it's a blanket verification"). When the Verification person mentioned a recurring $5.00 charge monthly for the switch, I paused and said "no". Immediately, "Mary" came back on the line and was rather rude to me, trying to bully me into going back to answer the verification process (she kept saying, "this is my job, I get in trouble when you interrupt the verification process... this is my job" - as if she could guilt me into giving in and doing what she wanted; she also said rather rudely, "I went through this with you ten times, didn't you get it?"). When I said I wasn't comfortable proceeding, she didn't like that answer, but clearly realized I wasn't budging, so terminated the call. I note she didn't end the call with "thank you for choosing AT&T," which is the standard customer service "goodbye" from AT&T (I know, because I've spent more than a few hours wrestling with them on the phone in the past). Also, no AT&T rep I've ever spoken to would have spoken to me as she did. They're extensively coached not to be so aggressively rude.

I immediately called AT&T afterwards to find out if the call I'd just received was legitimate. The representative stated very clearly that LDCB (Long Distance Consolidated Billing) is in NO WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM affiliated with AT&T - they have their own long distance company in-house, and that the LDCB is a known scam.

    BEWARE OF THESE FAST TALKERS!

I also got scammed by these pieces of crap!  The guy told me that he worked for Century Link, and even gave me his ID #.  His line was that Century Link was switching their billing company.  Not once did he say anything about my long distance getting changed.  It all seemed legit till the "confirmation" part of the call.  The next guy was asking the questions, and mentioned about the increased rate for our long distance, and the monthly charge.  That threw up a flag immediately!  When I got off the phone, something didn't feel right about the whole deal, so I called Century Link.  They told me that there was no change in their billing company.  Luckily I got the 800 number for LDCB (866-706-8592) and called them back.  I expressly told them that their business practice of hoodwinking people to sign up was bull crap (harsher language was used freely).  He had the gall to tell me that they don't do that kind of business practice (yeah right!).  I called Century Link back, and put a pick freeze on my account so that no one can change our coverage with out the freeze being removed (only by me through Century Link directly).  Wow, it's amazing that these scum bags feel good with themselves lying bold faced to people.  I'm thinking that they need to be thrown in jail, or have their FCC license removed.

Just got a call from a "blocked" number.  Woman was posing as AT&T  and said that they needed our permission to lower our phone bill and long distance per new FCC rules. She said she had to switch me to a third party service to record my permission so that they followed correct FCC protocol.  I was instructed to answer yes to all the questions.  I was asked my name and whether I was authorized to make changes to our accont.  The next question was "do you authorize your long distance carier to be changed to Consolidated Billing Company"?  My exact response "only if AT&T remains the carrier for all my phone services.  He disconnected me immediately and the call went back to the first person that called me.  When she got the same response she hung up on me.  I called AT&T immediately and had my account flagged and noted that NO changes were to be made to our service with them without AT&T speaking directly to me.  Consolidated Billing tried to scam us big time.  Beware of this company.  I looked the scam up and they are noted as scamming and lying to people.

A man with James Williams on his nametag came to my apartment. He claimed that he was an employee of an Ohio Electric company. He claimed that he could save me money on my electric bill. He called a number and gave a woman my cell phone number. Five minutes later, she called me back from the 210-418-8995 number for verification. When I called the number back all I got was a pre-recorded message.
