This is our second call from this number. The first was Sunday and when my husband answered, they didn't say anything. Then today (at 4:30am!) they called again and I answered so my husband wouldn't wake up... Once again, no answer, then they hung up. There were also calls from this number reported to https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-210-547-3295#p57998365486572381.

I thought I would let all know that I traced this to several business names that all seem to tie in to the same address.  First, caller id as : O'Connor and Hall.  This comes back to a collection agency at 4538 Centerview suite 250 in San Antonio.  After looking up this address some more it also came back to Talbott, Adams, and Moore (Collection Agency 210-541-0785) with same address.  When I went to their own website it says that it is Spears, Dewitt, and Hall. http://www.spears-dewitt-hall.com/services.html  They claim to use a telephony dialer.  Their phone number is 210-541-0965.  You can see the circular tie in with the name Hall.  I though you all might like to know this.  I keep getting my calls at 0630 in the morning.

They are all owned by Phillip Spears.  He has done business under the name Pay Direct Services, Talbott, Adams, and Moore, Inc, Oconnor and Hall, and now Spears, Dewitt and Hall.  They call you at that time of the morning because they have an office i Jamaica and they are too stoned to know what time it is.  They are unlicensed thugs with no legal right to make collection calls to Texas residents.  Half of his collectors and the guy that runs his office in Jamaica used to work for a firm that was shut down by the FTC.

They will be out of business before long.  Sue them while they still have some $$ to pay claims.

They keep calling me everyday. I answered the one time they called while I wasn't working and the lady said they had some important document with my name on it and I need to give them my DOB and last 4 of my social to confirm its me. They said I owed 130 dollars for something they didn't even explain. She got frustrated with my resistance with giving her my info and started spewing out my DOB's day and month and asked for the year. And asked if I lived at an address they had on file. Which I no longer did. And then they wanted me to update the records with my info and I told them no. She then asked for my debit card number. This pissed me off and I angrily said no. It amazes me how people get swept my these phishing scams all the time. People must be truly ignorant to fall for this or other scams. I don't owe anybody money, I pay in cash for almost everything and if I did owe a company money they would send me a letter like a normal company. My dad has gotten this same style call. Do not answer a call from this number or any variant's. They have tried calling on numbers with the last digit different.

Dimwit, it's not a phishing scam, they are asking you to confirm your identity so they can make sure they have the right person, then they are asking you to update your information so they can keep in contact with you and bully you with collection calls if you won't or don't pay on the first contact.  All legal as long as they don't abuse/harass you.  The debt is likely legitimate, at least according to the creditor.  If it isn't then you are going to have to take it up with the creditor.  Hanging up on them or ingnoring them or being a dumbass and refusing to pay will only ruin your credit.  Either send them a cease/desist letter and let them burn yuor credit but at least the phone calls will stop or call Dean Malone in Dallas and sue them,

They have called me repeatedly, leaving messages for "Martha."  (That's not my name).
I have never been able to understand the messages because it sounds like they're calling from an airplane packed with people elbow to elbow all making the same phone calls.

I finally picked up today and told him that there was no one named Martha connected with this number.  She asked me when Martha moved and I told her this was my cell phone and I have had the number for over 3 years.  She said ok and hung up.

Same as above. They call at least 2 times per day... some times is a foreign sounding lady saying "hey hey hey its (someone) call me back" its all static. Then another one will call and say this is so and so...I have some important info to discuss with you call me back. A few months ago I finally called back and block my number...some one answered and said... Who is this... I gave them the number I was calling from and they said is this your date of birth? It was my date of birth...I have NO idea how they got my DOB (I told them that NO it was not...) and then they asked if I would supply them with the last 4 of my SSN...I was like UMMM no who the hell is this???? They never answered...they must be getting people info and calling to act like collections agencys...
I told them why the hell would I give them any info...and they said "think about it, how would I know your full name and your DOB" Idk but freaked me out!!! Do not give them any if...they HAVE TO BE scam's!!!!
Deny any thing they ask..and dont answer again!! Report their a**!!!

They call me multiple times a day.  The very first time they called and told me that I owe a debt to an apartment complex.  Happens to be the same apartment complex that I still reside at. Only asked for my birth year to verify who I was.  It was a low amount and I asked them a bunch of questions.  They spouted out my old address from 3 years ago and asked if that is where they could send info.  I told them no one lives there.  When asked where I currently live.  I simply said, "here".  The lady was actually really nice though.  Never got an attitude.  I told her that I would get back to her.
I called me apartments and they said that they had no idea what I was talking about.  That if I had a debt they would not turn it over to collections if I am a current resident and that my account has no debts that need to be paid on it.
They called back about a week later wanting me to pay the debt.  This time did not verify that I was who they were speaking with.  I told them my apartment said that I do not owe a debt and that they never sent anything to collections.  Then she got pissy and rude with me.  That "I wouldn't have this information if they didn't give it to me" " I assure you I am not lying to you about it" etc... all with attitude.  Finally I told her I do not owe anything and told her to stop calling me.
Since then I have gotten at least 2 calls a day.  As early as 4am as late as 11pm.

dimwit.  They have your name and dob because they have an account for you in collections.  They are asking for the last four of your social because they are trying to verify you are who you say you are before disclosing any info.  They are trying to protect your information.  That being said, your information will probably be stolen out of their jamaican office and sold.  They're a legitimate company but they have a sweatshop in Jamaica, which is a hot bed for identity theft.

They are a real collection agency, if you look at the FDCPA *fair debt collection practices act* they have to confirm your id before giving away information about why their calling. Yes they have an office in Jamaica as do most telephony based business *not all in jamaica just international because of cost effectiveness* If they have your info it's because someone has a collection out for you. You may not know it, it could be a bailbond you cosigned on, a apartment complex, a credit card not paid, an overdraft bank account, a self storage facility you didn't pay, and yes it sucks but most of the stuff they do is legal. Welcome to the world of debt collections, the longer you ignore it the more damaged your credit it. hundreds of ways to deal with collectors, with all the laws the FDCPA has set. As far as ID theft, it happens everywhere, DELL has issues with india costumer service reps stealing credit card info, America has the same problems, debt collectors typical aren't the best people. Pay it, ignore it, sue them, get sued whatever. *As far as sue them, make sure you know what your talking about and don't be ignorant because if you have no legal case you will be sued right back and pay their court fees for bringing them to court along with the debt you owe.

Obviously you work there or worked there because you rattle off the main types of debts that Spears goes after...for the record Phillip Spears has never succesfully sued a debtor that wrongfully sued him, although I'm sure he is dumb enough to keep trying.  Secondly ID Theft does happen everywhere but legitimate corporations like the one's you mention at least try to prevent it rather then just ignoring it and pretending that it doesn't exist.  And imho, most of the stuff TAM/PAJ/SDH/OH does is illegal...specifically, they don't send 1st notices on most of the debt they acquire, they leave deceptive messages about "tax time" and PAJ doesn't even have a license or bond to collect anywhere in the states-which means the entire operation is operating in violation.  Good luck, I'd put my resume together.
