When I answered it was a recording telling me it was urgent that I stay on the line to lower my credit card interest rate. I hung up. Sounded like a scam to me.I hung up.

I took the opportunity to hit '9' to talk to a live operator.
(Note that the number they called me on is on the Federal Do Not Call List).
Male voice with a slight Hispanic accent thanked me for calling; I said
"Cease and Desist from calling this number again!", only he hung up somewhere
between "and" and "Desist"...

They called me today, too. Hung up.

I get these as well from this #.  About 6-8 months back I decided I'd pick up on the first ring everytime (with ALL telemarketers).  I'm retired and on the computer all day, the phones right there. It's very convenient for me.  After picking up I'd go about my regular business of typing, turn the TV up, give the dogs a command, slurp my tea, clear my throat, let the morans know I AM there.  Oh dear but why can't I hear them, is there a problem they wonder?  Can she hear MEEE?  Nope, no problem, then I hear THEM going, "Hello?  Hello?  Hellloo?  Mrs So & so (name pronounciation ALWAYS wrong)?  are you there?  HELLLLLLO".  Tee hee I love wasting their time right back.  I've even heard some cursing at me towards the end. Just the best, it never gets old,frankly.  The one thing they don't want?  Is YOU wasting THEIR time hahahahaha.   Anyhoo, it passes the time in an otherwise uneventful day.

Wow has it ever cut down on the callstho.  They just can't figure out what the problem is.  Feel free to use my solution folks.  I promise it will give you a warm and fuzzy feeling, like mashed potatos and gravy.

Receive calls from a Portfolio Recovery number twice everyday. Today they have called every hour starting at 8:23 am. The person they want no longer resides at this number.
