They have called every other day for the past couple of weeks stating I have a computer security issue. I've ask them to stop calling and that my number is on the Do Not Call list. Evidently the guy calling is reading from a paper for he doesn't understand the English language.
If the Government wants to eavesdrop and record the American people's phone calls then the Government should be listening for these type of calls and go after them.

A lady just called and said she was from ECP and needed to have access to my computer straight away to fix problems. When I questioned which software was having problems she said it was add on programs from my brokage account that I accessed recently. There is more to this so hang up ASAP - never answer them again -- they are fishing and possibly watching what you are doing on line.

Although your caller ID gives the number format like it is coming from the New York City area code of 212, my incoming call detail (provided by Optimum) says these calls are actually coming from the country of Morocco, which is country number 212.

I just received a very helpful call from 2120774568.

They informed me right away that they were calling me to tell me about all the harmful files and programs that are running on my computer. (Just as I was waiting for the sales pitch to buy some down antivirus program something interesting happened next.)

They said they could show me the exact files and folders that were bad and harmful. This is when I decided to play along and started recording the call. 

They first taught me how to execute the “Run” command by pressing the Windows + R keys, then they had me type eventvwr.exe. This opened the event viewer. They had me scroll down the application log until I found an error. They said that this error was and bad and harmful programs that were running on my PC without my knowledge. (Complete lie, this program helps tech’s like me find problems with trusted programs on customer computers. Viruses don’t even bother with logging when they are infecting your computer.)

They next had me type this into the Run window “inf harmful files and folders” This command brought up a directory in windows explorer. C:\Windows\inf This is trusted location for setup files that Windows uses for installing trusted programs. See link below. They asked if I knew about these files. No I did not. ;-) They said these files were also “bad and harmful programs that were running on my PC without my knowledge.” Oh my gosh what’s a person to do?
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/INF_file

Then they said they need to transfer me to a technician to fix my computer from all these bad and harmful files. But first they need to run one more command. www.join.me They had me start a new meeting, download the software and then they asked for the meeting number I just created. (Now join me is a program use for granting remote access to computers. This is a trusted tool use by many people every day. However, there is no way I’m letting a cold caller with a foreign accent remote access to my computer after having him lie to me for 10 minutes about harmful programs installed on my pc.) So this is where the call ended, my fun was over. I wish I had another PC setup and ready to go so I could see where they went next with this. I’m guessing it would not be good once they had access to the PC.

Do not let these people into your computer. If they do trick you into this, make sure you have someone wipe your computer clean before you put it back on the internet. If you gave them your credit card number then it’s time for a new card number.

I wish there was a place to post this recording, it’s kind of funny to listen to. Bye for now.

Same story as above.  Tried to get me to scan and infect my computer.  I am an IT professional as my occupation.  I followed his directions for a while (knowing full well what I was doing).  His english was so poor, I had to break off the call early...it was taking to long.  Read him the roit act.  Felt justified calling him every foul name that came to mind.  Felt good.  ;-)

I just received two calls in a row from a similar character.  He was a male with a heavy Indian accent who was aggressive.  He also claimed to be from this "Health Tech" and said my computer was sending off errors to Microsoft.  After I told him no and hung up, he called me right back and immediately said "Why did you hang up on me?", in an offended and angry tone. Number was 212 077 4568.

Extremely rude and pushy scammer. Very heavy accent. Told me to check my computer and found that it was "highly infected". I hung up, he called back 4 times even though I hung up on him every single time. Got very hostile with me as well. This was my business line too.
