This number calls.  I answer.  Nobody is there.  I hang up.  Vicous cycle!  I call the number.  Guess what?!  Not in service??  How can that be??  :o(

Something tells me that this is some kind of scam.  There is never anybody there.

Have received to calls from this number.
Why do they do this kind of calling?
Do they not have things to do.

I figure the more I put here...the more other's will help me figure this out.

Got numerous calls from this number the past few weeks, and there has never been any answer to my 'hello' until today.
This is a New York area code, but the gal calling said she was with Community Broadcasting and was trying to sell me advertising for a local TV station (CFRN TV in EDMONTON, Alberta Canada).  She asked for the owner by name and when I told her he was not available, she went into her spiel, I told her we don't do any advertising.  She asked to speak to my manager, I told her I was the manager, she again went into her sales pitch.  I repeated that we do not do ANY advertising and she finally got the message and rudely said thanks, goodbye.

I no longer answer this call but I keep reporting it here so that others can help identify this caller!

i've been getting calls from this number for atleast a month now....pretty much on a daily basis and I've never had anyone on the other line when I say hello. Interesting to see that it's local advertising as I live in the Edmonton area. Can anyone else confirm that this is crap telemarketing for CFRN as I'd like to stop them from calling me?

Got the call today , told me they were calling from Calgary. Long delay in the speech , probably from overseas

1-222-777-0001  These morons have nothing better to do than keep phoning and hang up.The Phone company or the DO not Call Company say there hands are tied and cannot do anything, well, what the hell can you do???.

same thing, every day so tired of this garbage...

Called and there was only silence. I waited a bit, then put the call on hold to wait it out. After 6 minutes, the HOLD light went out, indicating they have hung up. Computer finally queued up my call to an agent who found no one on OUR end for once.

They called 5 times after I told them not to call...so I just freaked out on them....hopefully they get the point...if not well guess they will feel my wrath again :)

These people keep calling our work number 5-10 times a day. It is getting really annoying.

Shaw just informed me a business can block any 10 digit number in N. America for free, by pressing *60 directly after hanging up from the call, and entering the number you would like to block.
Not sure if they charge home/personal lines for this service.

I'm getting the same thing as everyone else....  getting calls weekly and NO ONE is ever there.   I'm in the Vancouver, BC area, and the number shows up as "New York"  212-777-0001

Why is it that technology is so advanced, but we still can't block numbers from calling us!

I live in Vancouver and got this call.  No answer when I pick up, number not in service when I call back.

just received same as most posted, no answer. these are typically autodiallers that will record you've answered but not have anyone live to speak to you - that's why there's dead space. Then they will have a telemarketer try calling you another day at the time you've answered. Had some advice from someone that seems to work, when the number comes up, pick up the phone but don't speak, just immediately hit random numbers in rapid succession on your phone, it confuses the machine, should just disconnect. I find the numbers don't 'call' back. (I'm on the westcoast canada.)

should never have picked up the 1st time. Was called again with a live person at the other end, soliciting for 'community television'. I requested they not call again, there is no interest in their services & remove us from their lists as we are already registered with the do not call list. Stupid autodiallers & telemarketers!

I just called my friend who I call all the time, and my number appeared as that one. We are both in the Vancouver area. Maybe I called at the same time as the wierd one, butstrange none the less. Thought I would type the number into Google, just because I am at my desk, and here I am....
