I got a call from a woman who calls herself Sophie, strong Indian accent. She said I qualified for a $7000 federal gov grant for being an on-time tax payer, and no bankruptcies. She said that I was only one out of 1600 and that it was a once in a life time opportunity. She got my bank acct number and said that the money would be in my acct in 2 hours as long as I confirmed with her Supervisor. She gave me a code:HO141. and gave me her supposed federal id# 97352, and had me call her manager named Wayne Bruce who then asked for my address, birthday and then said that before I could get the confirmation that I had to give a donation of $100 to Syria Lanka or Indonesia, but could not give me the name of an organization that it would go to and said it was going to a 3rd world country. Finally he brought up that if had to be wired before I could receive the money. It was then that I realized I have just been scammed into giving out my personal info. I hung up and goggled to find that this happens all of the time. I called Wayne back and told him that he should be ashamed of himself and go to hell, along with other choice words. Gee I feel dumb. Oh, well.

I just got the same call and when I questioned them about the caller ID# and name...they hung up on me. I did not give any info outside of address and DOB!! I called them back but any got the coporate directory!! Wow, how do ppl live with themselves.....

They just called me 10 mins ago. He asked to speak with me and I asked who it was and he repeated he needed to speak with me and once again I said "Can I ask who is calling?" he said no and hung up on me and when I called back it was the same directory. Funny huh?

I received a call from this number at 7:52 am today, June 8, 2011. I usually don't answer numbers I don't recognize but I said hello and nobody said anything and I hung up. According to the three of you, sounds like I did the right thing. I don't know how people like this get cell phone numbers unless someone I am doing business with is selling individual numbers. I believe there are legitimate businesses that have unscrupulous people working for them that sell phone numbers. I am on the do not call list and have been for a while but I don't think that really helps situations like this.

This is all scam. They call up and says "you've granted $7,000 from US Federal government" then try to get your personal info as others said. When I asked, Why the Federal government want to give me; then the idiot guy just hung up!

Just got a call on my cell from the same number (2127773455). Reeked immediately of a scam and I hung up right away.

I got the SAME phone call from the same number with a woman with an indian accent!!! She said she same thing, that the government wanted to give me $8k for being a tax payer. I said NO THANK YOU and she hung up on me! then tried to call me back 10 minutes later with the same message. Before i could even say what i wanted to say to her, she hung up on me again. I immediately called Verizon Wireless and put the number on BLOCK. Nothing is ever free in this world, ESPECIALLY not money from the Goverment!!! DONT FALL FOR IT!

I just got the same phone call with the exact thing on my cell phone.  I didnt even bother to answer because I look up numbers that I do not recognize when they call because of whoever used to have my cell phone number has a lot of collection agencies after them!

I received two calls from 212 777-3455 today.  Both hang ups.  Caller ID came up as K B Net News?
Tools.  Prob some scam.  Answer = dont pick up the phone when they call.

I'm [***] and I thought it was real. I was tricked :(. I canceled my credit card as soon as I saw this. Guess I'm the only one who went through with the whole process?

I guess I'm just intimidating when I answer the phone, because they hang up every time I answer. Can't believe I'm missing out on a once in a lifetime grant. Dang it!

I just received the same phone call and they she me I  was selected to receive $30,000.00 for paying my taxes on time and had no criminial record; she also told me how to use the money. The money would be coming from the Treasury Dept in Washington, D.C..   Once she asked me for my bank acct number I knew it was a scam; and I  told her I don't give out that information especially to someone I don't know.  I was very wise to her; so she hung up on me.

I just got off the phone with these guys and i said stop f"ing calling me!!! his reply was that he wanted to f"me and kept saying stuff like that over and over again i guess its a company called KD something news what dueche bags

Just had a lady with the same heavy accent call my cell and told me I'll b getting $7000 dollars and it could be used for anything. She wanted to verify some info that I never gave to her like my adress, age, d.o.b, and full name!!! After that she wanted my account number along with the routing number, right then I knew she full of it. Never give out ur social, or bank account numbers. I told her i dont give out my info over the phone so how about u mail me a check since u have my adress on file and she hung up right away! Despite it being a scam it bothers me to know someone out there can get ahold of my home adress so easily! 2127773455 is a SCAM!

I've gotten this call day & night & no one there. Finally I got someone to take & they said I will get a $7000 grant & they would transfer it in my account. I told them just send me the check & she told me the only way to get the money is to give them my acoount number. I told her are you f------ nuts, I would never do that & she hung up on me. I guess I won't be hearing from them again.

same call in 5.45 today. a man said he was calling as rep of US Government something and hang up when I asked to tell who I'm talking with.

i got the call from 212 777 3455 an they said i was approved for a $7000 gov grant i gave them all of my info an they said the would deposit the money in my account. they had me call a 202 905 0678 an talk to a Steven Jones. I asked to speak with a manger or owner an they put a Andre Richards on the phone he told me it was perfectly laget an I would have my money in 45mins or less they all had indian accents an seemed very nice. he also told me i would have to pay $100.00 before they send my money? If i gave them all of my info should i close my bank account and let them know whats going on?

ok so my boyfriend just received a call from a indian accent speaking male. who stated the exact same thing as Jessica on june 8th. I work at a cell phone company and get calls from customers  like this all the time. I google the numbers and the truth is shown.

I received several of these calls, then I finally answered. I first asked if it was a scam, then they hung up. They are persistent lil nasties becausae they called again. So I played nice and got him a little bit off gaurd. I proceded to tell him I have called the FBI and said they are on the case. I did not, but whatever. Anyways, 'Mat-you', the person whom was trying to scam me, started to tell me that the police would be there and he is a goverment official. So I buffed up my bluff to call him on his, I told him I did not care about any B.S. govt official and that him and all his ***** can come get me if they wish to risk everything. I was not that nice....regardless he began to swear at me saying "F*k you, ya muddafugga. I adsjfqunfrgn dg dcvsdf gfdv(<forgeign dialect.)." And then as soon as I realized I had no idea of the lagnuage he hung up. For a government agency to call at 7:26pm EST on a friday is just funny. BTW....they already know your address and basic info. You have to give them the important stuff. Anyone can know where I live, and what to refer to me as, and when I was born, but they do not know who I am and if they wish it, I will grant it.
**A good qustion to wonder is are any of the pople here on the playstation network. I did not receive these calls until after the breach. Just a thought.**
