She was telling me she work for Microsoft and my computer was sending error message
I told her I contact myself Microsoft last week and find out it was a scam
Than I inform her I could complaint to the CRTC (for Canada only) and she hung up

Same as above. Man with an Indian accent called and said that he was a Microsoft technician and that they have found a serious problem with my computer and I should turn it on and he would tell me what to enter. I told him get screwed and hung up.

Second call from this #. First was a woman with Indian accent telling me my computer sent Microsoft an error message. Interesting, since I had not used it in over a month! Said she was from "Microsoft Technical Support". Asked for info on my computer & I refused her. She hung up. Now, today (4-29-2014), a man with an Indian accent called stating he was also with Microsoft Tech Support & wanted to know if I owned a computer. Told him that's for me to know & them to find out. I hung up on him this time. Caller ID gave me this number with a New York location. What the heck is going on with this? I am turning over the info to our local police dept. who are now actively pursuing these types of calls as a scam on the elderly.

I got a call more than once but no one ever said anything...sat there silently then they hung up on me. I just got this home number 2 weeks ago...

Man with an East Indian accent, same message as the other posts. I have a Chromebook that has no connection to Microsoft. I expect bad intentions.

A heavy eastern accented person identifying himself as Alex called from (212-777-8457) and said my computer is broken and it is "sending out bad messages". I was not born yesterday and asked him if he could not find a real job. He insisted he was from Microsoft and calling from Washington, he wanted to gain access to our computers in order to commit fraud, why with all these complaints does the FCC, CRTC, Verizon or even Microsoft not do something to keep this fraud being done in their name. There are obviously many people being scammed as this has been going on for quite some time. The companies and government agencies do not seem to care and are unwilling to lift a finger.

212-777-8457; I've received calls on my cell and calls on my mother's landline.  Indian accent.  Call to the landline asked for my father who has been dead for 4 years.  Apparently, they work for "Microsoft" and the computer is sending error messages.  My Dad never owned a computer and I didn't just fall off the turnip truck.  Just hang up.  Scammers.  Warn your elderly relatives however, some poor guy in Alberta was taken for over $100 000.  He was 84 years old, for crying out loud.

Yep, just got the same call for about tenth time but did not answer this time when I didn't recognize the number.  Last time i told them "really?? But i don't have Microsoft on my computer." That shut them up pretty quickly. CRTC apparently can't do anything about these calls. Best thing is to just hang up. I'd be curious though to try to let them talk some more to see what they actually want us to do. Give them my passwords? Yeah sure, "Ken" / "Robert" / "Steven"...

This guy needs to go to jail , no b/s about it I reported this to the fraud division of the FBI   If you call it said not in service. I am tired of this 6 to 8 times this week

I keep getting calls from 212-777-8457.  The caller says he or she is with Microsoft and wants to help with a problem.  I never allow the conversation to go any further and tell the caller to take my name off his list, that I am not interested, and that I know it is some kind of scam.  unfortunately that never seems to stop the calls no matter how angrily I state this.

Got called by number (supposedly two times, my brother got a call from them as well). Asked to turn on my computer, as they found a problem. Guy with big indian accent passed me over to a women with a big accent as well. I asked for a proof they were microsoft and they told me they would give me my own computer ID, which they didn't and then they hung up.

Same as everyone else...I've yelled at them..insulted them, said to remove my number from their list nicely.and not nicely..tried everything...same result NOTHING! they keep calling sometimes everyday!!!...seems like they get a kick about bugging people that tell them off...
from now on when I see the number I will just not answer...although like others I am curious as to what they want you to do and where they are from...it's a New York city number but they could be highjacking (call forwarding)  that number from anywhere in the world and using the New York area code to seem legitimate....

They keep calling and hanging up.

This number called both my cell and landline at about the same time. Didn't answer either call and no message was left.

I received a call yesterday from id ''V0300206360008''.

Similar as above, but turned out to be a dangerous threat. Man with an Indian accent called and said that he was a Microsoft technician and that they have found a serious problem with my computer (he mentionned an ''infection'') and I should turn it on and he would tell me what to enter. He confirmed my exact address in Canada. I remained polite and explained to him that I would not follow his instructions.

He then threatened me to make my computer explode. He said ''Your computer is gonna go boom !''

I laughed. I said : ''No, my computer is not going to go boom !''

Then he added: ''You [***].''

Then he had a very threatening voice and he added:

''I am gonna [***] your daughter.''

''I am gonna [***] your wife.''

He waited in silence for several seconds, then he hung up.

His intention was clearly to scare me. He really fell on the wrong man: A man of justice, a man of honour and a man of means.

Please contact me to stop this man. I have several friends in NY. I have to locate him and bring him in front of a judge in Manhattan asap. Do not take this caller as a simple fraudulent wrongdoer. He has dangerous instincts. He has to be punished by Justice or treated in a Hospital asap.

Thanks for the help so far.

We are closer to the NYC number now. Interesting data found already. Do not take this caller as a simple fraudulent wrongdoer. We repeat, this is to be taken seriously. Yes, it's a NYC number (Manhattan) but he could be highjacking (call forwarding) that number from anywhere in the world and using the NY area code, indeed. We are about to confirm if it is highjacking or not. In case this would be highjacking, any help to trace back the source will be welcome. Once we get the final word on the exact physical location of this man, we will stop him and his unit.

I let this one go to the answering machine, because I didn't recognize the number. What's strange is that the caller started to speak, reciting numbers, and it sounded like someone else could hear him. Be careful!
