She is still going strong. HAppened today (18th nov). She was well unproffesional and thats what got me thinking. She did not even know my name just asked if I had contacted a modelling agency. She asked if I was near a PC and right away mentioned the 39.99 :) When I asked for the website, she said she'd need to walk me through. I said someone was on my PC and would call her back in30 mins. She gave me that number (212 920 7013). Is there no way this kind of rubbish can be stopped or steps taken? Rememeber people, NO modelling agency that wants to represent you will ask for any money. After all, they are gonna be paying you!

Basically the same thing just happened to me.  I got a voicemail on my cell phone telling me to call this number.  She said they were looking for models for catalog work and said it would be $39.99 to sign up.  She offered to walk me through the process of signing up.  When I asked for the website she said it wasn't open to the public and to call back when I'm ready to sign up.

    Very shady.  Definitely a scam.

Still going ...I already got scammed and paid them the money. I responded to a different ad on craigslist and she just called me twice. The number she calls from for me was:646-649-3772 and the number she said to call back was 212-920-7013. Someone needs to stop this thing.

She called me today-very unprofessional- (Jan. 25th, 2008) her name was Lynn, she said "You submitted for modeling?" and I said yeah.. and she said "Are you near a computer right now" and I said no because I was driving, so she wanted me to call back when I got near a computer. I looked up the number before I called and I'm really glad I did- now I know this is a scam!

Thank God for the internet! A woman left a msg on my home voicemail today saying that I had tried to contact them regarding modeling, and she left the number (212)920-7013. Since I am a model & find alot of gigs online, I googled the number so I could find out exactly who it was that left the msg, but all that came up were multiple web addresses with complaints regarding this same woman & phone number!! And when I say multiple sites, I'm not kidding!! Well, I'm glad I looked it up before trying to call back. But I don't give out my personal info to people that freely, so she & I would have probably got into a cussing match if she would have fed me the bull that she fed all you people that have been scammed. This woman needs to be caght & put in jail.  God bless all of you who have been cheated by this woman. Sooner or later she's gonna get hers.

Rec'd a call saying I just called from my computer about a modeling gig. I said no. She asked me are you near a computer, I said No, so she told me to call this number 212-920-7013. I asked her name she said Lynn. I then asked her who the company was, she just told me when you get to a computer, then call that number from it. I then googled the number first, and all this information came up saying this is all a scam, which i figured to begin with. I have caller ID, and nothing came up except for Incoming call.

Gosh, just got off the phone with her. She did the exact same thing--asked if I were in front of a computer and that it cost $39.99 to get posted on the website. She asked about my height and said, "good". She also mentioned that they have 6 jobs lined up for June and needed models. When I told her I was going to be out of the country most of June, she got mad and ask "Why would you be applying for a job if you're going to be gone?" Then, "Oh, well" and hung up. That was extremely unprofessional, so I decided to search the number, and here I am. She was rude!

And yes, you should never have to pay for a gig.

I luckily missed her call back, but, I heard her voice mail. I could instantly tell she was very unprofessional just from listening to her message. She sounded like a crack head for starters and you could hear a TV blasting in the background. As a model I have learned to go with my gut instincts when it comes to working with people I am not familiar with. Subtle hints that lead to you thinking that someone is unprofessional is usually true. I mean, if they are legit or not, what does it unless they are professional. I'm with a top modeling agency in the bay area, but occasionally I like to be proactive about getting gigs, hence responding to the Craigslist AD. Please be careful everyone and make sure you are not getting scammed. We don't want to encourage them. Most if not all PRO agencies will not ask for an upfront fee to represent you, as someone here mentioned above. Good luck to everyone.

wow. i'm sure glad i googled that number. she had called me because i responded to an add on craigs list. she right away asked me to come to her office in manhattan, knowing i'm from connecticut. i told her it wasn't possible. and she right away asked me for the 39.99 fee and for a credit card number. i told her there was no way i was giving her my credit card number and she told me that i could call her back. and of course, when i called back i was going to ask for contact information and do a background check. she did not answer and i got a standard voice mail, which of course made me believe it wasn't real. so like i said, i googled her number and i came to this site. thanks for all the info. i'm glad i checked. damn scammers. haha update - as i'm writing this she calls me back and i told her, "can i have some contact info from you, so i can send something in the mail?, insted of over the phone?" and she said "no this is a one time thing" and i said "well thats interesting because i googled yer number and everyone tells me yer a scam artist" and she's like "no no, thats not true" so i said "well good try lady, peace!" haha. thanks everyone. you were all very helpful.

got a call from this freak last weak and it just didn't sound right.  the told me to call back and I didn't bother until tonight.  I think they had my number on hand, because a mean man answered and kept telling me "hold on, hold on".  I could hear the woman in the background a loud tv too.  She was spitting out another phone number which I copied down right away.  Finally, he hung up on me.  I called from my land line, which is a private number, and they wouldn't pick up.  I can't even remember what Craigslist ad I responded to in the first place that got me into this mess:(  I'm thinking of contacting NYPD about this just because I'm so frustrated.  Maybe some jail time will get these freaks off the crack for good!
