- tabbykitten| 1 replyThey are hare core spammers. They get access to your computer - upload virus and then charge you to remove it. Police unable to do anything about it as they are not calling from anywhere in North America.
- MathsmanSame as others calls, silence and then says goodbye
- Ain't dumb| 1 replygot a call from 313-333-3206. Phone ID said MGL-BPO. Some foreign guy knew my name and started talking about my problem with windows. Said he was with Microsoft. I told him I didn't have a problem with windows and then I asked him what kind of scam was this? He immediately hung up.
I'll tell you one thing however, he sounded just like any IT support person because you could hardly understand his English. Sounded like a Hindu. - Victoria S.| 1 replyJust received a call from this number. Male with Indian accent claiming to be from Microsoft. Claimed to have a report from my computer with detected malware and spyware. I asked fort he time stamp on the report and he had no idea what I was talking about So I told him that his call was BS because Microsoft has a time stamp on all reports and that he was trying to scam people. Then I hung up. Caller ID listed the name as MGL BPO. No idea what that could possibly mean. Just glad I got the call instead of my elderly mother or hysterical brother.
- Caller: MGL BPO
- HaraamI just had a call from this number 213-333-3206 MGL BPO, woke me up as I work nights as sheriff dispatch. The guy on the phone spoke with heavy Punjabi (accent from a region in India). Right away I asked him in Doabi ( our native language ) what is he selling and that my husband whos an IT consultant maintains all the computers in the house. Then he just hung up without letting me finish my words. The nerve!
If you have caller ID, save this number as evidence and call FTC if you eant to pursue a complaint.- Caller: MGL BPO
- Call type: Telemarketer
- ConnieReceived a call at 2:00 AM from number 213-333-3206 (number based in Los Angeles, CA ) ID'd as MGL BPO. Also claimed virus from my computer.
Has anyone tried calling the FCC or FTC to file a complaint. It would seem if they are using a US phone number someone would have jurisdiction.- Caller: MGL BPO
- GlennI am in the UK had a call from this number saying they needed to help with my computer. He could barely speak English. When I challenged him he hung up
- DodoGot the same call this afternoon. Thought it very strange, I continued to ask questions, then said I would investigate and call back. He gave me a Portland, OR number 971-21-79510. Again, East Indian accent, but said his name was PATRICK ANDERSON! lol! I verified with Microsoft that it's a phone scam, and I then called FTC and reported, and they advised me to call Fraud Alert at 1-800-525-6285. Sure hope he didn't get anything off my computer from the landline...

- RickjI have had two calls from this joker , sounded Indian, one my wife fielded and cut him off saying my husband isn't home. He called back two days later and I fielded the call. Man stated in very heavy acent that I he was from windows and I had downloaded a virus by accident and he woiuld guide me through its removal. Am I at my computer now?? I kept questioning him as to how my number was obtained, never got a response. Windows was mentioned over and over again, never Microsoft. This was obviously a scam. I kept him on the line for a good while with questions, trying to obtain more and more information as to the scam, both what he was trying to gain and how he was to scam me. He stuck to his script never giving me answers to my question but turning it back to me to get to my computer and how I was to follow his directions. Be careful, as this guy was about to take the uninformed or uninitiated.
- Caller: MGO BPO
- SoLongScam| 1 replyWe got a scam call from URPC CARE today. The woman spoke with a heavy (East Indian?) accent and I couldn't understand a fraction of what she was saying and passed the phone to my wife, who had to get her to spell out the company name. Couldn't understand what she said was her personal name. The woman told us our computer was showing error codes was told that someone had been downloading information from our computer, causing this error code, but that they could fix it for us. She said this problem is causing our computer to run slowly and will eventually cause it to crash. In reality, we have a new computer with no speed problems.

- SoLongScam replies to SoLongScamShe said she was calling from Columbus, Ohio
- miteytuff replies to Ain't dumbYup I had the exact same number and caller id come up at my home also. I listened for a minute, they said they have some sort of message from my computer that told them I was infected with a virus or something. I told them that I wasn't interested in whatever they were doing and hung up. Makes me mad. I didn't fall for their little scam but I'm sure others will. It'd be fun to be able to reach through the phone and choke 'em. GRRRRRR!
- ALI1970I just got a call, I live in Atlantic Canada, said there is a malicious infection going around in Windows, I asked for a number to call back and he said he couldn't give me one, just said he was from Windows and would like me to go through some steps on my computer to see if it is affected at all. I don't deal with people who don't give a proper business name or contact info, so said I didn't need his help and goodbye! Don't know how they got my number, but I am not on a no call list as of yet.
- sophI got a call today, same thing, very heavy indian accent, i think he got mad when i told him i couldnt understand him lol, he told me about an infection going around in windows due to downloading and that my computer is showing them error codes, i just told him my computer was fine and hung up on him.
- Dave WI see many others have got these scam calls too. A punjabi (East indian) accent, telling me I have a problem with windows, and wants me to download malware on the computer so he can have free access to the computer. Youtube has many videos on these scammers. I wish I could find a way to stop these calls - they call at least every 2 weeks or so.
