Got a call from this number Caller ID shows L A CTY FED OF.

Not true I'm female and they asked for me by name. I just hung up.

They've called me 4 times in the past week. Finally I picked up and didn't say anything and the guy said "Hello may I speak to [my name] please?" I just hung up. Now that I know what it's about, I can't wait for them to call back so I can troll them hard.

It's a call for Jerry Brown's support from caller ID  "LA CTY FED OF," it now being investigated as harassment.

This is straight out of the Meg Whitman playbook.  Rovian politics at it's dirtiest.  Of course it's not Jerry Brown.  Taken for face value, no politician would do that.

It's some type of prank but I haven't figured out who is the source yet. Let's keep searching.

I called this number and, it is Caroline O'Conner's personal cell number. She admitted to being directly linked to the harassing phone calls which are part of the Brown campaign. She offered a number to call for removal from the list but, I informed her that I will gladly call her each time I receive a call instead.
Please call her and bug her just the same as you are being bugged. She is part of the group. Do Not vote Brown, either. I encourage all of you to look into the Libertarian party.

been having the same problem. they keep calling and wasting my time. i called the labor fed., they were apologetic but it seems they need to train their phone bankers better, maybe be more selective who they let handle the phones and who they let stuff envelopes.

The address is the Victoria Apartments near the Wilshire District. The person would not identify what affiliation they were with. When pressed for an answer, they hung up.

I checked the LA County Federation of Labor AFL/CIO website and it listed a different number as the fax number and not the (213) 365-1978.

Finally answered this call after many times ignoring it.  A man who said he was calling from Healthy Families asked for my daughter who is registered as an independent.  I said she was away at college and he asked if we could count on her support of  Jerry Brown.  Isn't Healthy Families supported by public funds?  I think this is an inappropriate use of the organization's name and pehaps a deceptive caller ID.

Just got a call and no message. I bet they note the name you say on your answering message and then when you call back they know what name goes with what number.  Also, if they call back, the second time they now have your name.

I spoke to Caroline and she was extremely apologetic and removed me from their systems (as I live in Idaho now). For what it's worth, she said their phone systems haven't been working properly as of late and they're trying to get the problem resolved.

She said her cell phone's been blown up by a lot of angry people, and I apparently was the first person who was polite to her... Either way, I'm hoping she is truly making a push to resolve the problem for everyone else, she seemed like a nice enough person to me regardless of her political affiliations or whatever.

I received a call from that number, and the guy said his name was Ishmael. He asked to speak to my wife and when I asked what it was in regard to he said he'd call back and hung up

They keep calling me to with and automated voice recording, this is annoying and needs to stop!! I don't even know how they got my number...

Ok, I just called Caroline (213) 400-8401 and she claims she is going to remove it. Thanks guys for the info, i'll let you know if it actually worked.

I didn't pick up (I don't answer unknown numbers if not from my area code, particularly in an election season), and they didn't leave a message.
