Said he was the federal dept of treasury to collect debt

This number called and left a message that he was with the US Dept ot Treasury and was trying to reach me before the law enforcement did.

This number left a message saying they were with the Department of Legal Affairs and I needed to contact them. The caller was a male.

Left message, stated Dept. of Legal Affairs, requesting a call back.

A man called for my wife.  He identified himself to be Tom Cooper from the Department of Legal Affairs for the U.S. Treasury Department. He said my wife was being sued and he wanted to give her notice so that the process could start.  I asked why wasn't she sent a letter regarding such a suit or proposed litigation.  He said a certified letter had come back to the department and that was the reason for his telephone call to help her out.  What first notice that he was from India, Fiji, whatever and had a very strong accent but with a name, Cooper.  I don't thinks so.  Secondly, I work from home a receive all mail daily and distribute it to my wife and others.  If there is a certified letter, I sign for it, if it is not restricted delivery but in any event I would have know of any such letter.  Thirdly, he didn't provide the normal disclaimer about being taped.  Fourthly, I am a tax preparer and paralegal and know better how the various departments work.  He got upset that I kept asking questions and hung up.

Guy named John Baker called and asked for my dad but he wasn't home. He told me that my dad had a lawsuit against him and that they had already sent home a letter. He said he was from the US dept. of treasury. He wouldn't discuss anything and hung up when I asked too many questions.

Got a call for my wife from this number saying he was Dept. Of U.S. Treasury saying that she had a legal action against her from  someone with a heavy Indian accent. He gave the name of Ryan Maxwell. When I was her husband and asked what was the issue he became evasive. So I took his info and went online to check the  number which led me here. Saw what others wrote in. I told my wife and she called back questioning. After 2 questions the guy said he heard someone in background, called her a [***] and hung up. I guess he won't be calling back.

A guy named Randy (?, hard to tell because of the heavy Indian accent)  Stevens called from 2135360774 and said he was from the "Department  of Legal Affairs" (for which jurisdiction was not stated), that legal actions have been started against me and that I should have my attorney call him back.

Dude called just as everyones describing....and all i gotta say is hes in no way legit far as im concerned.

Strong India accent.  Stated that he was with the US Treasury Service and that legal action had been started against me.  When he asked to verify my address, I replied that if he was from the US Treasury he should know where I lived.  He immediately stated that he was sending local law enforcement to arrest me and he hung up.  They are breaking Federal Law and should be arrested for impersonating a Federal Officer.  But, if they are oversees, that's not going to happen.

I just received the same type of call for my son.  He said he was from the Department of Treasury. Heavy India accent - said his name was Brian Maxwell.  I had to have him repeat it and spell it because of his accent.  That made me suspicious because that is not a name from India.

John Baker called me this afternoon, too.  He hung up on when I called bluff.  I called back and we called each other names.  I called back using another number and said I wanted to pay three times the amount, because I felt so bad.  I called back using a third time and identified myself as Frank Poncharello.  I called back a fourth time using a different phone and asked to speak to his supervisor.  He said he didn't have a supervisor.  He's blocked all four of my phone numbers.

I received a call(on voice mail)from this number, 213 536-0774, saying the same thing. He said his name was Mark Hanson. He had a strong Indian accent. Mark Hanson with an indian accent? I call the # back and it is always busy.
