this was a bogus call from the IRS.  the caller said this call is intended for 'you'.  (there is no name on my answering machine.)The caller said his name was Kevin Maison calling in regard to an enforcement action by the US Treasury department.  Refusal to return the call would be a refusal to appear before a US Magistrate. he wanted me to return his call so he could help me.

The IRS works through districts throughout the United States.  A call from California office to a Louisiana resident makes no sense.  I have received these types of call many times.  There is always a threat, and nothing happens. I don't know what makes my phone number so appealing for these bogus calls.  Don't fall for this trick.  The IRS has stated many times that it does not make phone calls of this nature.

I got the same call 3 hours ago. IRS will always mail pertinent information to you as opposed to a phone call.

Not only did they leave a message on our answering machine about there being enforcement action being taken against us, when I called back and asked them to remove our phone number from their call list, the woman said she could not and started threatening me. When I then said I would report their number to the authorities, she said, "well you just go ahead and do that!" They don't seem to care about being called on being scammers! Unbelievable!

I just got the same call from "Kevin Maison". When is the government going to pick this guy up?
