why am I getting a call from this nimber

I got a call from this number today.  It says 'Directory Assistance, CA'.  No idea why they called me.  *scratches head*

When I answered, I got nothing.  No response whatsoever.

Puzzling.

It's the LA County Commission on Aging. Probably a roto-survey.

received a call from this number on 05-06-15 at 10:56 a.m.   - have no idea why they are calling me as i do not know anyone in California - do not appreciate getting calls from someone i do not know CALaDowntownA - something could not see the rest of it that is what showed on the caller ID

It's spam.

Must be spam.  Got call and missed -- called back and it said it was AT&T Directory Assistance.  Probably some sort of scam because I am sure I was just charged for a 411 call on my phone bill.  I will block this number so it can't call me again.

Lately I am getting calls from this number? I do not know anyone in CA.

Why bother putting your number on the Do Not Call list if they're only going to ignore it anyway?  Really irritating if you ask me.

They've called 3 times in the past week and left no message. Probably not legit.

They call me daily but I never answer.

No matter what number you press (if you pressed a number), to either "win" the $100 gift card or be "removed from their calling list", you have just provided them with everything they needed... a warm-blooded human on the other end with a valid phone number. The very best you can do is not answer; the next best is to hang up when you smell a "RAT" (which is what they are!).
The absolute worse thing would be to give them your credit card info so that they can charge you the "standard $2.00 filing fee". If you adhered to this final procedure, don't ask anyone what that stabbing pain is between your butt cheeks!
