This person with an (asian) east Indian accent called and tried to convince me that my computer has been sending error messages and he could 'fix' these errors.

A person with an Asian accent called and he keeps on calling and they want to fix my computer.I told them not to call me no more and that I'm on the do not call list but they still keep on calling.This time the name of the company came up on telephone display as L A CITY M T A 213-922-7973

Got the same phone call as above. Sounded like from India. Said they were calling from Illinois.

East Indian accent. Called the office phone.  Said our computers had a Windows issue. Funny cause we run Macs.

More of the same...fix my computer crap.  I tell them I am a retired FRAUD Investigator for the FBI (or whatever) and now I've got their location and number locked, I will contact their officials.  99% of the time I never hear from them again.  Other times I play along with them and give them bogus C-Card #'s to keep them on the line while I push keys on the telephone so they hear the tone, tell them I've recorded everything & then I pull the Fraud thing on them. --- It's fun.....................

They called and said that they got an error from my computer. Middle eastern / indian accent. Weird thing is we hardly use the computer and my kids happened to be on it at the time of the call for literally the first time in months.  It completely freaked me out.
I shut the computer off and got the kids our of the room.

In addition to the scam/fraud pretending to be Windows people, -  the other part of the scam is they also hijack a real number but are actually calling from out of the country (from India).   The number 213 922-7973 is Metro which is a legit company.  These same Windows scammers who call to gain access to your computer - will then hijack another phone number.

I tried to scare them and then I got more calls.

LOL I do that to. I told him I didnt have a computer. He really said i was full of [***]. I said NO you are and hung up. that was in aug. just got another call. and didnt want to deal with it so I told her where to go!

Spoof call: registered via Central Office: LSAN DA 01, CA - PACIFIC BELL (they have call logs showing call originator) it is not LA Metro Transit
Possibly originating in India however.
More tax dollars wasted for less protections folks.

I just got the same "...routine check for your Windows PC cuz it sends warning messages..." Phone call.
Guy with heavy (Indian?) accent called himself Alex Parker. I asked a number to call him back, he gave phone number 630-492-0346 -which appeared to be a dental office of Kami Nozuri located in IL.

name says L A CTY M T A.  I live in Kansas, and don't know anyone in L A CTY. So no reason anyone from this company to be calling.  I don't answer calls from people/numbers I don't recognize and they never leave a message.  Yesterday, they called 3 times in 3 hours, so far today, 2 calls.

Same thing that I found on my Missed Call list.  I am going to block this number.  Thanks for sharing.

This is ridiculous!  They need to stop this phone number.  It invades my privacy, abuses my home phone I PAY FOR.  Please do something to stop this.

Same thing, Indian guy telling me they are receiving many errors from my computer, I'm on the do not call list also, I asked him to identify the computer in question and he ignored me and kept on with his spiel at which time I told him it sounded like he was calling from a foreign country and did not trust the phone call and hung up. That number is now on my phones reject list. Why isn't somebody doing something about this. I am writing to the FTC, but I am sure nothing will happen since I don't contribute millions to whoever is the chair overlooking the FTC, lol.

Caller ID as others have stated is "L A CTY M T A" … call came in at 7:40 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time. With a family member away at school in that area code, I did answer the phone. Dead air.

Thanks to all these reports, I am (a) blocking the call (b) no longer concerned about family member.

Called twice yesterday. The second time, 45 minutes later, having read the reports on this site, I answered, but spoke only Koean. There was no response. A third call this morning, but I missed it. This is an old scam, as I recall the computer error spiel from several years ago.

Someone with an accent (Indian?) called about my computer.  I told them I wasn't interested.

This number has now called 3 times in one hour, and the first two calls where a minute apart.  I didn't answer then first two times, but I did Google it and found this.  So when they called the third time, I answered with "Dominos Pizza".
