Rec'd voice mail msg from a "Sharon Smith" leaving call back number as 980-939-0922 telling a "Blondell" that a complaint had been filed and he needed to hire a lawyer.  The reports for 980-939-0922 indicate that "Blondell" is not the only person "Sharon Smith" has called recently......

Also got one.... call back number given was 9809390922.  Claimed a "complaint" had been filed in court (with a "restraining order" !! :) ) and gave a case file with the caller's name as "Michael Price".  Said the victim had 24-48 hrs to respond.  Also called themselves "Allied Legal Services".  The whole thing sounds extraordinarily fishy and I did a little investigation.  Googled the 9809390922 number and the whole thing becomes clear.  Also googled "Allied Legal Services" and "Michael Price, Private Investigator" ... well ALS pops up as a family law service provider on the East Cost.  980 area code is on the East Coast and the 213 area code is Los Angeles.

At best, these are bottom feeders with a long-discharged and debt in their "to-do" box but they're using illegal threats and phantom claims.  At worst, they're actually scam artists committing fraud.  The difference is pretty thin.

Update: I called the two United States listings I found for "Allied Legal Services" (hint: neither one used the phone numbers given) and both said the call had nothing to do with them and that they were getting complaints from all over the country -- they weren't exactly happy with "Sharon Smith" or "Michael Price" either.... (the two names most often given by the scam callers).

This is a definately a scam.  They are so breaking the law (FDCRA) with their ploys.  I am going to attempt to get my debt erased because unlike some folks this is an actual debt.  here is a link to others that have had the same problems http://goo.gl/W4b4... go to your state attorney general and file a complaint.  also file a complaint with the ftc as well.

I had the same happen to me. Bryan Walker refused to supply info regarding address. Said that according to HIPPA (Health Insurance Prortability and Accountability Act) Really? that they do not have to supply that information. If they don't you cannot mail any money to them if they even were legit. What BS. Contact the Federal Trade Commision at www.ftc.gov and your state attorney General.  Do not give them any information if the cannot give you any information. Do not give them your work address, social or anything else.
