The caller wanted me to turn control over to a technician to check to determine ifix my computer that had been hacked. They called me several times yesterday (August 6) they were most insisstant and each time they called back I hung up This morning at 8:00 am this morning they called again. I checked my computer to see if I could determinme there was something wrong with my computer- I found nothing to indicate I have a problem. Can't something be done to get rid of these callers?

I just recieved phone call from this number. When i picked up the phone started ringing like i had called them. A guy with foreign accent claiming to be Max from Microsoft said my computer was badly infected and to please turn on my computer and do what he told me. (Oh yeah! I would DEFINITELY do this. LOL ) I told him the line was recorded due to my husbands line of work and that I need him to keep talking because I needed all the info I could get. He then started calling me everything but a white woman. I heard more F bombs than I have heard in the last 5 years. He also told me what all he would like to do to me and how he would like to do it.  He called from 214-228-4484 and also gave me phone number 929-999-1834 but of course this was before I made him mad. ;)

Got a similar call from "Jeff" who said he was from computer lab at Microsoft.   Told him I knew he was a scammer and that I was going to report his fraudulent call no.   He said "OK" and started to say something and I hung up.  I blocked this no. (1-214-228-4484) but these guys have called before using other nos.

Got the call  at 6:52 AM from 1-214-228-4484 the name on the caller ID was Jeff Hahn. He said he was calling about my computer. I hung up immediately because I got hacked from these guys once before and I was not giving them the opportunity to do it again.

Caller called me by name and said he was from Microsoft . I have had these calls before . Caller had heavy Indian accent and wants to take control of my computer.

Jeff called me at 6:50 this morning to tell me that someone hacked my computer.  I told him that I have a MAC and it doesn't get hacked easily.  He said he was worked for APPLE and that I need to go to my computer so that he could install something so that my computer wouldn't be hacked.  I hung up on him so that I could research it and from the comments on this board, it looks like we have a HACKER!

Who should we report him to?

same exact story, caller from 214 area code in TX wants to take control of my computer, claiming he is a technician for Microsoft and received a report that my computer had files on it that allows hackers to gain access.....it was kinda funny because I asked a lot of questions I knew he wouldn't have answers to ie. which computer as I have 3? What IP address? Please send me a confirmation email that you work for Microsoft etc.

got a call saying it was a technician from microsoft and my computer had been hacked told him i hadn't used my computer in weeks and i that i didn't believe he was who he said he was he said he had my info about my computer i said i wasn't interested he hung up after telling me you don't believe i'm from microsoft

I just got a call from this number and played with them for a bit. The caller admitted (surprisingly) he was calling from Pakistan (with a thick Urdu accent) and was with "Windows" but not Microsoft, lol. Windows is a registered trademark of Microsoft so they are one and the same. He did say he was from a company with a "Tax" name in it and they detected intrusions on my computer based on its unique ID. The background noise strongly suggested a boiler room and they are likely using random number generators to get phone numbers from around the world. This is a scam and they are spoofing the North American number to lend themselves credibility. Microsoft will not phone you and give you this nonsense.

got the call as many others here, a tech from Microsoft, saying I had a serious problem with my computer (who calls it that anymore anyways, would be more convincing if he said laptop, notebook, or tablet).
Only message I could give him was "Yes, I was born in the dark, but it wasn't last night!"
Oh, first time I got this call was a couple days ago from an "unknown" number, same individual.
Tempted to get one of my old desktops from the closet, get on line with it, and let them waste their time hacking it.

Didn't pick up.

These people are still at it.  Got a call a few minutes ago. Said my computer had been hacked.  Name of company he gave was techsupport.com. Yeah, right.  Wish I could hit "delete" and get rid of these creeps.

I received a call early in the morning, too. The heavily accented male caller tried to tell me that he was calling from IT services or PC services. I said he was lying, I hadn't made any calls requesting service and that they were so bad at there scam. Apparently, he didn't like that be age he hung up.

received a call from 214-228-4484 on 5-02-16 at around 5;50pm man asked how i was and i asked the same of him.he told me he met me at a grocery store last friday and wanted to talk to me about love. i hung up. i hen reported this to police.

My roomate Alexa picked up th.e phone for her boyfriend works in the States so she thought it was her boyfriend even though the State of Texas is not where he is.
A man with an East Indian accent asked for her name and said he is phoning from Windows.  That our computer is going to crash and they are the support team who will fix it.  Alexa told him we have no problem and we did not call Microsoft.  He said it is Windows and not Microsoft.  I just arrived home and Alexa gave me the phone.  I asked him the same question if he is from Microsoft.  He said Windows.  I told him I used to work for Microsoft.  And if he thinks he is from Windows,  then I am from the Planet Mars.  He started getting real rude and I hung up.
Too bad there is no way to track these people down and stop them.

I got this call just this morning.
