- I *HATE* TelemarketersI picked this call up while the answering machine started to answer it, so I didn't hear the complete recorded message, but just in enough time to hear that old spam message that my computer "was sending them error messages" and they could help me fix it. All I had to do was press "1" to speak to a representative. So I decided to play along on their dime to confirm. Sure enough, some Indian-sounding guy calling himself Mark came on and told me they had been receiving error messages from my Windows program and they could fix them. He told me to go to my computer and press the control button and the letter "R". So I played along and pretended to do it. He then asked me what the screen said. I told him "The screen says this phone call is nothing but a scam and the caller should never call back here again!!!". I then hung up the phone on "Mark" and blocked the number. I am on the DNC list but we all know that law is never enforced, so I take matters into my own hands do my own phone block.

- L MarksI picked up my phone when the call was coming in from 214-302-6762 and heard a recorded message saying my computer was sending serious error messages and I should hit button #1 for their Microsoft person to help me with the issue. I hung up. Microsoft should be looking into this since it's obviously a scam.
- Caller: Don't know. Reverse lookup said it's from an AT&T landline in Dallas TX

- BSo I have been getting calls from scammers for years, and this number has been the most recent of them all. I had just got a call from these people about 30 minutes ago and they had asked me to press #1 to speak with a representative. As I did so, knowing already it was a scam, they began telling me that i had an issue with my computer. I told them ,"No I do not." and they said I did and for me to "hurry up" and get on it. They went on to say that I needed to download some "anti-virus" thing on my computer and to turn it off afterwards. I knew it was crazy so I hung up. Also, I decided to go into investigation mode and I looked this guy up. I found his street number and city/state. He is from Dallas,Texas. The last location this caller was detected was on South Lancaster ST. in front of a Hospital. This number is said to Not Be Safe. I hope this was helpful information.

- Caller: Microsoft
- GusCall at 1204 pm PDT. Man's voice was very American sounding, not at all foreign, which was a surprise. It was the message starting with Microsoft engineers have noted I have ... and hung up when the voice mail was about to end saying leave a message. For some of you who commented above: 1. Do NOT pick up the phone; calls should diminish over time if you do not engage. 2. If you pick up the phone you are contributing to their income and they sell your phone number to other scammers. 3. Crooks do not abide by the do not call list -- they are not a legitimate business. 4. Let the elderly and impaired know not to every pick up the phone, always liten to the message first. 5. If they do not have an answering machine or caller ID -- get them one -- and remind not to pick up ever. It is so sad that years ago we rolled our eyes at the "paranoid old people" and now they have reason to be so with these disgusting crooks from around the world. PLEASE do not interact with them. It gets you more grief. You do not "win" -- they "win." Report each call so the feds can close in on them. Then they will either be caught or be aware of the close in on them and change to another number. Sigh. -- AND, if you locate the number what you are NOT seeing is that it is a stolen/spoofed phone number of someone that the guys overseas are using.
- kelly young| 1 replythey called me wanting me to get to my computer and they would help me find my computer id and see if i was being hacked. i just was trying to get more info about what he was trying to do because i was not going to just give out any of my computer info to just anyone. he started to raise his voice to me and i was trying to tell him that he had to give me more info on who he was and what company he worked for. he did tell me that he worked with Microsoft but other then that he kept telling me i needed to get on my computer to give him certain to let me know if i was being hacked. i again tried to double check to make sure he was a hacker trying to get my computer info. he again raised his voice and told me that i didn't know anything about a computer and then he told me to f*ck off
- Caller: he said Microsoft
- Jim replies to kelly youngDitto, he called me a "mother-f*****" when I pushed him why i needed to tell him my computer id.
- andyJust add another scammed to the list and nix the DNC list. Until something is done with these people, it will go on and on and get worse and worse at the mercy of bottom feeders.
