Say they are US Dept of Justice and ask if I am driving or doing anything where I can't give my full attention. Wondering if they are legit as they are calling my Work Cell only it seems.

I'd like to think they are full of it.  Got this call twice in two days, they only left a message once.  It was the same as your message.  But I am easy to get a hold of.  I have a land line that is listed, so I think it's a load of bull.

3 days in a row, I finally answered, asked if I was 18, then said they were recording me as a male...  When I said yes she said ok, we are currently only surveying women and said thank and good bye and hung up.
Strange!!

So they have been calling every day since I posted. I finally answered and asked "Who are you looking to speak to?" As they do not ask for a person by name.

She replies "I am looking to speak to whoever uses this phone number" I said, "Put me on your no call list and do call again" She says "I need you to answer two questions and I can let you go"

I said "What are these two questions?" She gave me "Are you over the age of 18?" I did not answer and asked what is the second question? She said I need your 1st answer to continue. I said I am over 18 and then she asked if this was a business or personal cell phone. I said it is a business number which it is and she said okay we are not looking for your type and will take you off.

If you see me reply back to this it is because they called me back.

I do not trust this number and you shouldn't either. They are calling random numbers and for someone who works for Dept of Justice they have no idea who they are calling.

Lady called, said she was from the DoJ doing a survey on women and sexual abuse. Wanted to know some personal details. Could get a $20 check if I cooperated.
They gave the following phonenumber for call back if necessary: (855) 7496249.
But the call was from the number mentioned on this website (214) 3604784.
The 855 number is from the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, www.reginfo.gov

I got a call from a woman identifying herself as a member of the DOJ. She began telling me I would have to answer a few questions to see if I qualified for a survey. I said I wasn't interested in the study and she said that I would need to answer her questions to see whether or not I qualified. I pressed my concern about how I was not interested in this survey, and she ended the call

Left a voice mail from U S Department of Justice

Say they are from the Dept. of Justice.  When I questioned where she got the number she said it was generated by computer and they are not under the DNR list and they don't sell then number

Some woman called me and asked me for my name, gender, household number, zip code, and so on. I started answering until I realized it sounded fishy and oddly specific. The woman was rather rude and snarky about how I was hesitant to answer. She gave me a website to a check out their legitimacy and scheduled me for a call for another time.

Sounds really fishy and now I'm worried I've said too much to her.

Seems fishy. DOJ? Really?? Give me a break...

I took their survey and they sent me a legit check in the mail.  I used to work for a survey research center.  They are legit.

Yeah I got the same call twice, I just blocked their number.  Sound fishy!

It is absolutely illegal for research company to falsely claim to be the US Department of Justice!

Why would NICOLE search the number and reply here after receiving a check and knowing who it was?

They called every day starting 8/3/15. I did not answer but used my business phone to call that number and it said some kind of survey but did not answer US Treasury. Then they called on a Sunday so I answered and told them to stop calling this number, she was saying something as I hung up.

This is from the department of justice. They are doing a survey on sexual assault/date rape and it's legit because they sent me money for doing the survey. The survey took about an hour and they will call back for a follow up 2 weeks later.

It's legit-I did it too. I searched the number because they called for the follow up survey and I didn't recognize it.

If you would look on line under the dept of justice, you would see they actually do this on a random basis as part of the census...geez just don't give them any debit card or bank or personal info! You know in this day and age anyone can find you if they really want to...

Dept of Justice same as above. Few simple questions for future survey. Promised money beyond my wildest dreams. Ha NOT! Sunday call to my cell???
