Twice in the last month I've received a call from this number. My phone rings once and then the caller hangs up before I could answer, even if I wanted to.

Same as Dan.  Got a call and before the second ring, it was over.

Just happened to me.  One ring then gone.

Called it from my work phone. Got recording from "Julie" wanting to give out a $100 card because I visited one of their affiliate websites. Got choice of pushing 1 to redeem or 2 to go onto do not call list.

Same here.  One ring, then nothing.

Yep, same thing.  Called it back and pressed 2 when prompted to get off the list.

Just received a two ring no message left from this number.

Also just receive the one ring call!

Yup, just got a call from that number 1 ring and then a hangup.

Same one ring and that's it.

Yep, two rings and they hung up.  Happy New Year, this is only the 20th call like this I've recieved in the past week.

Called back the number and the recording started "Hi, this is Julie with Reward Redemption... for visiting one of our websites..."

The purpose of the 1 ring is simple. It gets the person who was called the opportunity to call back and take advantage of what the company has to offer, if anything without having to pay. By their just making the call and showing their number they get 1000s of curious people to call back. A good gimmick (a trick or device intended to attract business).
