Is this a legitimate business?
They claim to consolidate and pay off your Visa card debts and offer you a credit card with 6% interest rate.

I just got a call from 214-699-6217 ext 312 Mark Johnson (quite an accent for that name?).  Anyway I gave them some info, then said what am I doing.  He put me on hold and said he was going to look up some info, came back and gave me exactly the information I would get if I called the self serve myself with my Card # and date of birth.You never give personal information over the phone.  I hung up and called my Mastercard company and canceled my card.  Pretty sure this is a scam.  He even brought GOD into the conversation to make me believe him..who does that?

Company is LTA - Tax & Accounting Dept. (said he was in Calgary, Alberta)  214 is Texas?

I had a East indian by the name  Mark Anderson. It appears it IS a scam as they wont divulge anything about themselves , like what city in Texas etc and the operator wasnt able to verify it either when I called to ask place name 214-699 she could only verify Texas, so it tells me its probably being fielded to India....they told me they wouldnt charge my account until the lower interest rate was approved, I received a letter of decline from a local bank re this and when I went to contact LTA to cancel, low and behold I cant get them...checked my credit card company and they said its been billed already...I have to try for 48 more hours to contact them to cancel before I can have my credit card company file a dispute (with no guarantees I will get my money back) I am a single parent just lost my job and was very desperate to lower my charges...now I may have an additional bill for $700+ ...Christmas will be non-existent if this cant be reversed. I am totally sick about this, how could they be so heartless? how could I be so studpid?  PLEASE, dont any one else fall for this, learn from my stupidity. They call themselves Lindquist taxes and accounting in Texas, or LTA..

Linquist tax and accounting phone said they could lower my girls credit rates for wanted $695.00us said his name was James Cooper BUT he had a verification officer name was  Mark .When asked were they were they said Calgary A.B Canada ,they told my girl that her cibc visa was active but its not.  WHY WOULD A CANADA COMPANY BE DEALING IN US DOLLAR,and asked for all of her numbers  and,back of card numbers,which if they were real they should not need back numbers.Tracked first # 403-255-8807 does not come up as A business number but a private as A Tracy Wallace,and there no ext second number phoned back blocked.Had her call card companies change codes,this smells of scam

Just received a similar call. Said they represent all banks in Canada. Working with Credit cards VISA and MC to lower consumer rates. Why should we be paying triple the rate? I would not give my card number out over the phone. They had the first 4 digits of Capital One and their phone number. But wanted me to give them my number. I wouldn't. Her name was Jane Parker. Said she was from  Calgary, AB. Gave me this number 214-699-6217. She said they were legitimate. She also had an accent. Said she wasn't asking for my mother's middle initial (which is not what banks hold on record) to identify someone. So I took her number and said I might call back. But after reading these comments on WWW, not going to call. I remember this call coming a year or so ago. They wanted to charge my credit card for their fee, but that would lower my interest rate on my card for life. Just didn't sound like it was true then, and still doesn't. My recommendation is also to not give out any details over the phone. If they were in Calgary, I asked why couldn't we meet? She said she was just doing her job, that her manager would be the one to negotiate with me. She was sorry that she couldn't help me since I wouldn't provide the verification information. Don't do it! Then they can charge your card and it is very difficult to get it back!

They just called here.  I didn't tell them anything but they knew my mother had a CIBC visa, I pretened to be her.  They knew her name but it is listed in the phone book but I don't know how they knew she had a CBIC Visa.  It is a scam cause the place doesn't exist in Calgary and they are not calling from Calgary or USA, it is over seas at some room set up to call out cause I heard someone else in the back ground repeating outloud someone's card # that the peron was providing.  Don't give them anything tell the to F....   Off.   It's a scam.

I just got the same call all of you have.  Asked me credit number as well and I declined.  Then I told them to call my husband who happens to be a credit manager.  The guys name was Brian Lee but did not give me his number...very fishy.  Beware.

I just got the same call.  Unfortunately, didn't google the name until I had already given my information.  Don't go for it.  When I mentioned scam and I would check with my bank, he (Marc Antoinio) got upset.  Your right, big accent for that kind of name.  Said he was calling from Calgary, very vague on the details of exactly how this would work.  Smells like scam to me too.

How do I know that 'Who calls me?' is a legitimate outfit? Am I telling 'WCM' things that 2146996217 would like to know.

I received a call about 1 hour ago from Lindquist Tax and Accounting (phone no.  (1-403-255-8807) from a person called Alex Steven (don't believe it considering his accent). He said he was calling from something something Canada (did not catch it right away and I thought it was TD Canada Trust calling). I was then transfered to a George Martin (again unlikely considering his accent). He caught me off guard as I was multi-tasking at the time. Unfortunately I had already given them my information. I quickly got off the phone and called my credit card company and informed them what happened and cancelled my card and at the same time, they actually transfered what I was owing on my card to a much lower interest credit card, 1/2 of what I was paying. A few minutes after I cancelled the card I received another call from Lindquist, who wanted to complete the transaction. I told her I was not interested and she informed me that there would be a charge if I cancelled the arrangement. I told her no way and hung up on her. If they try to put a charge through, too bad for them because the card is now cancelled. I know better and I got caught up in this. EVERYONE PLEASE BE AWARE AND ALERT WHEN ON THE PHONE WITH SOMETHING THAT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE, BECAUSE IF IT IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE THEN MOST LIKELY IT IS NOT TRUE. Like my credit card company said, if you want to discuss you credit card interest rate, then call them and talk to them about it.

I hope you cancelled your credit card right away. If you gave them enough info, they can charge your card.

This must be a scam!!! I too was caught off guard and gave them too much information!
They have access to some database somewhere. They knew my balance and approximate credit limit.
The first guys name was Mark Elliot, the second “Account manager” or something like that was Tony Adams. They said they were from “Lindquist Tax & Accounting” he gave me a number to call him back 1-877-251-4366 ext. 297 and some license number T0M0164. It started to get funny when I asked where the offices were he said all sorts of Canadian cities but skipped over Calgary, Alberta which is where the 403-255-8807 number is from. Anyway after 30 minutes I woke up and hung up on the guy. Called Capital One and had to cancel my card.

The representative from this company tried to tell me he was a lawyer and told me to F*CK myself when I pointed out they were breaking the "Do not Call" laws of Canada. Charming.

I received a call on my cell phone with a message from a company that they are working with Visa and Mastercard, and if I wanted to reduce my interest rate to 6%, then I should press "9". A male with an Indian accent came on and asked if I would like my interest rate lowered to 6%, so I answered yes. Then he asked what type of a credit card do you hold....I told him, well, if you are calling me, then you should know. Then he said fine, that you are holding a CIBC Visa and I said that's true and he said "to make you more comfortable, I will give you the first 4 numbers on your card." So I said I"m not going to give you my card number over the phone without knowing who you are, so he said he was with Lindquist Tax and Accounting, and that his name was Daniel Garcia and he was working out of Calgary. I took my home phone and called the number that came up on my cell phone - 403-255-8807. A recording came on saying that this number is an out of area number. I asked Daniel for a number that I can call him back on and he put me on hold claiming to come back with a number. He came on and told me that to make me feel more comfortable, he would give me the next 4 digits of my credit card number, and they were correct. Then I said that you are not working for CIBC Visa. He replied no - we work for the credit card holders to lower their interest rate. I asked how does your company make money - he said, I assure you, there will be no cost to you and if you verify the last 8 digits on your credit card I will tell you what your balance is and what your credit limit is and your last payment and your next payment due date. So reluctantly, I gave him the next 8 digits and sure enough, he was able to tell me my balance, the amount of my last payment and the date of payment, my minimum payment and when it was due. I thought that these guys have access to a lot of information. Then he asked for the exact interest rate that I was being charged on my statement, so I told him it was in another room and I put him on hold to go get it. While I had him on  hold, I called Visa centre and asked to speak to the Fraud department. They told me that they were aware of a company that is phoning around but guaranteed me that this company does not have the ability to lower my interest rate - that only the issuing bank can do that. As long as they did not get my expiration date on the card and the number on the back of the card, Visa said that they cannot charge my card. I asked Visa how is it that they have access to my credit card number, my balance and payment history, and they said we know that they do, but we don't know how they are getting that info. Visa suggested that I do not cancel the card, but keep an eye on the next two statements. I hung up on so-called "Daniel Garcia" - he called me back to try and get more information. I told him that I was not interested in doing business with them and that I would be calling the R.C.M.P. Fraud unit with what information I have and hung up. He called back again and left a voice mail claiming that they are legitimate.

I had a call this evening from 214 699 6217 inviting me to a credit card interest rate lowering opportunity.
I refused to give additional information to the caller -  Mark Elliot (strong accent that did not reflect his name) who supposedly was calling from Linquist Tax and Accounting in Calgary.

I got a call from "David Jones" who sounded like he should be davinder singh.  When I asked him about his name he said that doesn't matter.  I told him it did when it came to his credibility.  I asked for his Calgary address and he said 250 west avenue.  I told him that address didn't make sense for Calgary.  He said his personal Id #was PK994.  I told him I'd look into his company and let him know if I was interested.  This appears to be a scam.  No reputable company lies about their name and gives false addresses.

I also just received a phone call from 214-699-6217.
As with everyone else who has posted here.........it sounds very sketchy. There is no way that this company is legit. How would they make money? They are most likely in the business of stealing identities.

One of my friend got a call from this company , i researched about it get to know some facts that i want to share. First of all its all scam , and these type of scams are running in canada for quite long now. What they do is they sell services that a customer can do it by them self and they charge a heavy amount for it .Lindquist accounting is based in Arizona and their Sales force is some where in Pakistan. The website www.lindquistaccounting.com leads to their IT company www.cephic.net (its written powered by cephic on the bottom ) and this is the number which is written to contact

My friend had to cancel his credit cards and I would advice Canadians to be aware of that and donot give out credit card information over the phone. I also would request concerned authorities to look into this matter.
