Got a call from 214-969-5489 and it was a collect call.  We could not understand the name but accepted anyway because we have a large family.  It went silent and no response...

Got a call from this number and it was my husband, he was arrested in pueblo colorado and that was his free phone call, usually its a payphone.  sounds like the number is some sort of routing number

so i just got a call from this 214.969.5489..is this in Lockhart, tx?

I got a call from this number again just now. Its 2:00am. Its someone calling collect, but they never say anything when it says who's calling. They've been calling for the past few weeks. Wierd. Woke my a** up. :o/

Got a call from this number at 1:53AM.  Let the answering machine pick up, but no message was left.

Called twice, voice mail picked up, they left no answer.

Very interesting has anyone recently purchased something online that they may have had a dispute over?  I ask because currently I am in dispute with a company regarding an online order and all of a sudden I am getting calls from this number repeatedly.  But no one is saying anything when I answer?

Recived a call 7:40 PM 10-09-08 Person on the other end said that Linny needed to talk. The call was collect so they WANTED A CREDIT CARD to put the call thru. YEA Right I Dont Think So. I tried to trace this number alll I could find was Dallas Texas

On 9/3/08 found a recorded message from a woman calling from 214-969-5489. Left a very short message indicating she was calling collect as a friend.  Erased the message as my household does not respond to collect calls or out of local area call sub numbers.   Three weeks later, I received my 9/26 telephone bill with a $22 + charge from ILD Teleservices using above number.  Called local phone service provider and notified them that this is a bogus number that shouls get a red flag based upon filings on this web site

Just got a call from this number. it was from my sister's brother.
he's "on the loose" and I *really* need to know where the call is from. I know the place is in dallas, but I highly doubt he's there.

i just got a call from this number... i didnt answer. i have at least two numbers a day calling me some stupid stuff. but before that i had a collect call and i answered it cause i thought it might be my husband, but it was nobody... anybody an idea how to stop this callers???

I got a call from this number and they wanted my credit card number.  They said my husband (they gave his first and last name) was needing to call me collect.  I almost gave it to them but when I asked how much it would cost they told me it would $19.95 to connect and the $6.00 for every minute after that.

I got a call from this number last night at 3am!! It woke me up but I didn't answer it, so I googled it this morning and wow! I'm astonished so many people have commented about it! The caller ID said "Private Name" It's a little spooky too...

The phone numbers 214-969-5489 and 415-656-1073 do not refer to any one single pay phone in any one single location. They are most likely outbound trunk numbers of the long distance companies used by the individual pay phones.

When someone makes a coin paid long distance call from most COCOT pay phones, the pay phone does NOT dial the destination number directly. Instead it dials a toll-free number, listens for a 2nd dialtone, then dials the destination number. By doing this, the company that operates the pay phone will get cheaper long distance rates, but a major side effect of dialing calls this way is that the number of the pay phone will NOT be sent as the Caller ID. Instead callers will receive a 'generic' number that often can not be called back.

Please accept the fact that these numbers (214-969-5489, 415-656-1073, etc.) only indicate a call from some pay phone somewhere, not a specific pay phone location. i hope this helps

I believe the previous post is correct. My boyfriend was arrested last night in City Island NY. I received a collect call from him - same number.

My wife and I have been getting calls from this number, from some girl calling my wife names, knowing where she works, and harassing us. We filed a police report, but nothing has been done. If anyone could help, that would be great.

got a call from this number on 10-19-08. they left a message saying they were some jail.

I received a call 10-20-08 at 10:32pm from same number. Message saying My wife was doing it with others.
