Last Friday I received a call/ voicemail from a William Smith (foreign accent/arab/indian) claiming that there is a law suit being filed against me for $4000 due to an outstanding loan, and that I was being charged with violating federal banking regulations, collateral check fraud, and theft by deception also. He said if I paid off $645 it would cover the court fees, money owed, and everything else. He was practically begging for my account information for a payment. I hung up after telling him I didn't have an account with any Cashnet and  that I wasn't going to make any payments.

Next a Ronnie somebody called me with the same information the same night. My mother works for ATF {Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms - Government} so she called him and slammed him with a bunch of questions he couldn't answer. He switched his speech saying it was a student loan. My mom asked him what institution it was from {he didn't know}, the amount of the loan {$4000.00 but I don't have any $4000.00 student loans}, the date it was opened {No clue} and to send paperwork that verified everything he was stating{never sent any}. Then she informed him that I would not be making any payments, that she worked for the government and if I was pursued any further they would be sued.

The next person we heard from was a John Butler. My mom and her boss called him from the job. The boss{Jeff} asked what was the name of the firm {Carlton Law Firm}, what type of law they handle, {mostly debt resolution}, how do they contact people being sued, what is their procedure, {John Butler just rattled off details saying they make a phone call from the office and give the customer information. They take payments over the phone if possible. He claimed they send paperwork first after my boss asked him.} After about twenty minutes on the phone, John Butler asked "Who are you and why are you calling?" So, Jeff told him that he had been harassing his client and unjustly accusing me of owing them money. He read them like a book. You are NOT a real law firm calling from a house phone in texas, you are a scam, and if you call my client again, you called her last night so back track and delete her number, she will be getting a lot of money from you. We have all of your names and there are ATF agents in Texas. We will trace this number so fast and be at your door so quickly it will make your head spin. Are we clear? Mr. Butler replied yes, and Jeff ended with the same courtesy they left us on the voicemail "NOW YOU HAVE A NICE DAY!" LOL They haven't called since!

Ditto...they are still at it.  I've gotten 2 calls for the last 2 days at about 3:15 EST.  Maybe that's when he can make a call from jail....  they also called me about 4 months ago.  I can't believe he thought I would give him any info after our last exchange.  I knew from the start it was a scam and I was not very nice.  Next time I answer with a blow horn...File a compaint with FTC.  There is an online form that makes it easy.  Maybe if enough people file on this phone number, they can do something about it.

They called me as well saying it was a lawsuit against my name and ss#.  I told them to stop calling me because it was a scam.  You could hear other people taliking in the background and it was an echo when he was taliking like he was in an empty room.

These guys just called my old business partner's wife saying there was a pending lawsuit against him. Too bad for them he passed away 2 years ago. She called me all upset. I called the number back and started asking questions. They said they were in Dallas. I asked the guy what time it was. He didn't know. Then I asked where he lived in Dallas. He actually gave me an address. I asked what color his house was. He couldn't answer it. I told them they were disgusting as only an Irishmen can do. They called me back from 2149896077 and 7133709229. If you want to have fun, call these dirtbags and talk to them. Once they got off their script, they couldn't speak a bit of English. Just could say you r a%*hole.

Received numerous calls from a 214-214-989-6077?  John Butler.  His team of so called lawyers would call me constanly.  They told me I would be arrested, they had my case number and could settle this matter out of court for $500. If they took it to court it would cost me anywhere from 2000, to 3000. I finally figure it was a  scam because I asked them to fax over information to me and they said they could'nt do that and they would call me late in the night. They had me going for a minute. I glad i follow my gutt feeling and found this other blogs.  Be carefull! They need to be sued for harassement.

These frauds called me today. They had my name and address, and said they had my social security number. When I pressed them to tell me how they got my social security number, the conversation went in circles. Do not give them any information, and tell them not to bother you again.

I received phone call from Carlton Law Firm  there is a law suit being filed against me  and that I was being charged with violating federal banking regulations, collateral check fraud, and theft by deception also that it was being filed with my SS# being tied to my name. Message left was barely understandable, and with all the noise in the background my first thought was.. scam!  Decided to check internet and glad I did!   I will be calling them back with a message of my own.  Will contact my State Attorney General if they call back.

    Not getting fooled!
I got a call this morning from someone from "carson lawfirm".  I didnt really understand much of what he was saying because of his heavy accent. I told him I'd rather speak with someone else, he said he was the one handling my case.  What a fraud.

He told me to write info about my case number for a loan I took out in August 2010 for $390 and legal fees for $450.  I told him to mail me the paperwork about the lawsuit and he actually knew my address.  WTH! Im very upset that my address is available like that, he knew my first and last name too. Im so upset that info became available to this scam artist.

He couldnt give me information and was acting very unprofessional arguing about whether I took out this loan.  Something a real lawyer would not do.  If there was really a lawsuit someone would subpoena you and give you the info in person.  This is so redicoulous.  I told him Im not arguing with him, just mail me the info and I will be mailing a cease and decist if this ends up being real.

He knew I meant business and I didnt waste any more time with him.  I told him if I found out this is a scam I was going to report him and I intend on doing so.

This is truly rediculous.  They use various numbers too.  I think its time I refreshed my number on the donotcall list.

My daughter just called me in a panic. Some "Indian guy" left a message on her cell phone telling her that she better call him back right away - or her lawyer -  or all he could tell her was "good luck". We called the number back from my work phone and he claimed to be from some law firm. You could hear a lot of other talking in the back ground - other idiots on similar calls. He just kept trying to pump information out of us. I am so naive that I cannot believe that people do these unscrupulous things. Go back to your own effing country. It is so scary that just anyone can obtain your personal information. How do you report these people. Stay off of Amazom.com kid!
