Unknown caller from "Philadelphia, PA". Leaves no message

Caller said he was a Microsoft technician. Caller ID identified it as "school district." VERY clearly phishing.

Just received a call saying my computer was not accepting window updates.  I could hardly understand the 'technician'. I told them to not call and remove my name.

Caller said he was a microsoft technican who wanted to help me update my computer...said it would not accept updates from microsoft windows..I refused...gave me the name Steven Foster so call back @ 1/888-217-1123.....but this was the number that came up on caller ID (215-220-2321)

this is a scam, same phone number as above, the guy identify himself as a microsoft technician and would like to help you update  my computer. I told him get to get lost. I traced  the number and its is a Walmart promotion line.
I hope these guys are going to jail.

He called and said that he was a Microsoft Technician and said the were getting repots that my computer was not accepting Windows updates.  I said, "that's weird, because I updated two of mine today with no problem."  Then I hung up.

Same. MS Tech, computer not accepting updates.

Same here. Some foreigner called up claiming he's a Microsoft certified technician. He said my computer was not updating. I asked him how he knew. He claimed that their global computer was receiving hundreds of errors. I asked how he knew it was my specific computer and if he knew who I was. He promptly hung up. Guess he didn't like the confrontation. Huh?

He called me with the Microsoft bull and I told him that all we had in the house was Mac's and he hung up!!!

4 phone calls in 5 minutes time. said micro soft tech and wouldn't shut up.  

Obvious scammer from the start. If you're not a computer pro then just tell them you know they're scamming and hang up. He has you get on the computer and pull up your event viewer which will show you failed computer operations numbering in the thousands. Explains how the computer has been corrupted and needs to be fixed lol. Tells you to use the Windows button+R to pull up the run command. Have you type in teamviewer.com. I wasn't willing to roleplay beyond that point cause it would involve the installation and activation of a remote host. He explained that they have alot of people to help and it's the quickest way to get my poor computer fixed. If I had finished my black computer that doesn't have access to my router settings I could have collected information about his IP and DNS he was coming from. One day they'll call the wrong person and they'll get  played.

Called. Little pause. Then said my computer wasn't responding to Microsoft updates. Clearly a script and a scam.

Got a call today from this guy. I think he claimed that his company was Quick Tech Support. He told me to get on my computer because I have error problems. I told him I have 3 computers and asked what one it is. He told me all of them. I asked him for his company phone and address and he hung up.

Got a call from someone that said we had a computer problem.  Could not understand him and I hung up the phone.

Like that others said. It was a guy calling saying my computer isn't accepting updates or something.

What a crock of SH>>>>>  Theses idiots are just scamming.  I wished i had played dumb a little long and found out what they really wanted.   They kep telling me that the MS Name server was rejecting my.... not too shure what it was rejecting.  Whey i asked the ip or DNS # the hung up....

Careful, someone with an Asian accent called about my pc...said there was an issue and they needed to clean it up...... DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFO!!!  Caller ID said Pa School District.

same call here..he called my house twice within an hour my husband answered the first call couldn't understand what he was saying and just hung up. Second call I answered, he said my computer was sending thousands of errors (he didn't say he was microsoft...he just said he was a windows tech....laughable) said my computer was sending thousands of errors and he wanted to help me fix it ... and I said which one....and he asked "how many do you have"  and I said...I'm not talking to you...send me a letter and I hung up.
