I missed a call to my cell phone from this number. When I dialed back later, I got a message that I had "won" $1600.00 "travel dollars" towards a vacation in Cancun. "Press 1 now to get more information".

They just called a few minutes ago. It was a Pennsylvania number and I live in Canada, didn't want to use long-distance, seeing the other comments here, I'm glad I didn't pick up.

Just got a call from this number. Picked up and no one was there. I hate these calls!

Ignored this call and will continue to do so based on the reports by those who answered it.

No one on when I answered. No one answered when I phoned back. Another nuisance call.

just received a call from that number. i was planning on picking it up and just letting them waste some time with dead air, but it was an automated call from cdn tire, zellers, etc. - anyway i was starting to press some random buttons to see if i could find a live person to waste THEIR time (hey, whaddya want i'm on break right now) and when i pressed the number "8" it told me that my phone number has now been removed from their list. just an fyi

Same here--I live in Canada and saw the area code for Philadelphia.  Didn't pick up; no message.

They hung up on me before I really got to give them the gears.  Too bad, I have some frustrations to vent on someone.

They called tonight & my husband answered, asked if i'd entered some contest or other while on the line. Said I didn't, so he hung up on the automated message. Same stuff as above, most likely trying to get credit card numbers, which we never, ever, give out over the phone! We just want these types of calls stopped, once & for all, but don't know who to contact. We're also from Canada.

At 1:14 pm PST on Sept 2, 2011 I received a call from 215-383-9747 but did not pick up and the caller did not leave a message.  Area code 215 is Pensylvania USA.  I live in BC, Canada.

LYN, there are a couple or so databases you can add your ph# to, supposed to
remove your name from national call sheets, you would be surprised how many
reputable businesses you do biz with end up inadvertanly!!! sell your info to annoying
scammy co"s. customer lists and such seem hasrmless enough till these guys get thier
grubby mits on your* stuff*  I am only so helpful due to head injuries, cannot supply
you with removal # although this site in particular is a good place to start, also, start
at home, use your telephones call block feature, or give bad #"s a name on your call display.
once you find and sign up on a removal line it can take months,  so keep being dilligent
and as always remember everyone ***** IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE< IT IS

even to credit card co"s. THEY WOULD ALREADY HAVE YOUR INFO!!! PROPER NAME ETC>
do not be tricked into supplying the right spelling of your name or spouse, other phone #S
i have never entered a friend or family member into a contest in store or on line WITHOUT telling
that person.  THEY ARE SHIFFFTY PEOPLE, BE SMART AND REPORT<  even if its the
firefighters for ms,  the bull#@$ ones got my grampa  he had been donating for years, it took
one call to local firehouse to figure out it was a shifty scam.  using kids, they should be ashamed
(they are not) and burn in HE(double hockey sticks)  HELL.  ( sorry gramma) in B.C here
we have a group called FRAUD BUSTERS, and or PHONE BUSTERS< through the RCMP
Royal Canadian Mounted Police.  maybe your town has something like this too? check it out and post for others to use info,  we need to stick together,  I appreciate info I get from this site,  thanks everyone!!

one i know that would do such a nasty thing to me by entering my wrong name in a contest that
is a total scam to get CREDIT CARD INFO over the phone, and that had crossed the line and gone down to the UNITED STATES of america.  (i feel as if a piano should start playing some dramatic
piece right now) i recently learned that 90% of internet scams originate from NIGERIA thats alot
not bad for a girl with head injuries hey!  stay alert always read the pesky TERMS & CONDITIONS
its worth it people, youd b surprised at what you R giving your permission for regarding use of your
name and info,  teach your teenagers this, life is not that busy it takes all of 5mins max,  better than the countless hours and$$$ it can cost you in the end for not reading what you R agreeing to.

Just got a call to my home in Vancouver BC from this number in Pennsylvania.  Didn't pick up.  Whoever they are, they must have money to burn -  even ld phishing must be very profitable.  (I recall a friend returning from a Las Vegas holiday saying "I wonder how they can afford to build those spectacular casinos and employ all those headline acts.")
