Got the same call -threating me

threatening call...call back to avoid criminal charges....suggests it is the US treasury.

we got it too, and now we are reporting them to the police.

Recieved third call from "John Smith" with the "Department of Legal Affairs". Caller I.D. said call came from Hatboro, PA. Heavy foreign accent, perhaps Nigerian, and calling from a busy call center operation - you could hear numerous conversations in the background. I wouldn't be surprised if the call originated overseas. Said that action had been started against my wife and to call him back immediately. Obvious scam written all over it.

Same thing-Hi, call me back to avoid the Grand Jury.

Same as above and would not answer my questions when I confronted him. Said it was the wrong person and hung up!

called and left threatening message  at 8:00 am Saturday morning. Never expected to get harassed so early.

Proud and glad to live in a country blessed with the rule of law, this lying criminal enterprise needs to be shut down now. If hosted in Pennsylvania, the state AG needs to do serving today

Called my house at 7:40 this morning....that's ridiculous especially for a Saturday morning!!

Same call

Received several of these calls in past week. Said his name was John Connors from US Treasury. I had to laugh. His accent was so thick (indian accent) that I could barely understand him. I asked to speak with someone who could speak proper English. About 30 seconds later, someone with less of an accent got on the phone and started demanding personal information. I was messing with him at this point and asked if the US Treasury has an office in New Delhi....he hung up at that point

Just went through the same experience with 215-734-0228. Reported him to the IRS link a previous poster provided.

Based on previous events, my suspicion is that calls like this verify a phone number and name which they use as a basis to get loans, credit cards, or the like. If so, this is very damaging.

Same call, left a message about the grand jury coming after us.  One minute after leaving the message, Mr. Foreign Accent called back again and left the same identical message, word for word.  He must have forgotten to cross us off the list after the first call.  I'll be sure to call him back, twice :)

Same caller, Steve Modern, foreign accent, threating contempt of court for failing to respond to "criminal proceedings".  I called the number and it said the mailbox was full and couldn't accept messages.  Good thing as I would tell them where to shove it.

I got that call today from steve martin or something similar.

Received this same message on Saturday afternoon.    Obvious Scam....

The call most likely did originate overseas.

He called me too, broken English accent.  Says he's with us treasury doing a criminal investigation bla bla. Ends by seeing help me help you!!!'
