A call just came in on one of our unlisted numbers stating that a message had come through to the effect that our computer security with Windows was not working. Something like that. The man had a foreign accent which was very difficult to understand. He asked if i was at the computer and said he wanted to instruct me on several steps to take. I disconnected the call at that point.

Ignored the call today. Received a call last week same info as prior person. Told me my computer was under threat. I asked how he knew this he said he had my IP Address. I said I didn't believe him and he had me hold for his supervisor. Same voice came back, using a different name.
(My computer was not connected and I was driving and 200+ miles away from my computer). He told me to go turn my computer on so I could tell him if my IP Address was right. I told him to hold and muted the call, set the phone on the passenger seat ..... He called back after 10 minutes later and I didn't answer.

I got the same call from a hard to understand foreigner saying he worked for the company Microsoft and that my home computer was being hacked. I said "really my home computer?" He replied "yes sir, I'mean calling you to help you with it" I said "Wow! That would be great if you could help me with this problem! But 1st there's a even bigger problem." He replied "what is that?" I said "I don't have a home computer!" The phone instantly went dead. Piece of s**t was trying to play a scam!

got a call asked about computer security, did not recognize number so I said county jail intake who's calling. got immediate hang up

it was a scam!! i just hang up.but they keeping calling me during the week,i am going to report the number to the FCC. see what they can do?????

This # called my cell today. Thic forge in accent. Should up as Cleveland, OH. Told me there was a threat to my computer and software possibly from a wifi connection. I asked several times what company he was calling from. Each time sounded like he said "Netflix" I told him I didn't have wifi or a home computer and asked where he got my # and click.

Edit: Thick foreign accent. Also, tried calling the # back, same tone as a busy signal each time.

Its designed to high jack your computer.  They will sound official as a 3rd party to Microsoft.  They will get you to delete needed files, then when your computer really does fail, it will cost you $300 or more to reload the missing files, they had you delete.  They have dozens of numbers, most have India or Pakistan accent.  My reply is ALWAYS, I have no computer, I use the one at the Library.  Defender with Microsoft does what these morons claim they do.  ALWAYS POST the number on these boards.  I get them from using CRAIGSLIST!  They get stupid when you say they need to contact the public library.  They usually keep blabbering!

Caller hung up after I answered the phone.

Got a hang up call from this number, sounded like a call center then line hung up
