FRAUD ALERT!! REMOTE CALL. They say they are from the 'IL Dept. of Revenue' but a quick online search turns up various Fraud Complaints. They are Fishing for information, do not give any information out!! They tell you to call another number 217-785-2698. BEWARE!!

Actually, it is the collections department of the IL dept of Revenue, and if you are getting calls from them, it means you have ignored several letters, and are now getting in line to go to a collection agency.  Of course, you wrote this in August and it is now November, so you probably know this by now.  Of course, when you finally did call, I'm sure you told the agent that you had no idea. Right?

Repeated calls daily

i got calls crazy this moring by this num and when i pick up it say nothing and itstop when i pick up ..if it was inportent they would have left a message

This number won't stop calling.  I want to block it,

the scammers are cloning the numbers, beside they posting comments on various sites like this to make it look real. Also providing the real IRS collection phone number 217 785-2698 to make the things more interesting. I did not received any letters from IRS with saying that I owe something , so why they should keep bugging me over the phone. If You owe something,or if there anything missing in Your file they will send You letters with saying so, then You can call them or talk with Your tax person and solve the issue.

Also if you call tax collection number 217 785-2698 it says if you do not have the notice with tax payer number please call next time when you get one.
