I got a call from this number.  Someone with an Indian accent (not native american) was asking for me but then hung up.  I called them back but it would not go through.

223-051-6600 - Add this to the growing list of BOTTOM FEEDERS that perpetrate their slime schemes on innocent people.
We apparently will soon have to abandon phones, just as we now are backing away from e-mail because of scumbag Spammers, scammers, schemers, shysters, pfishers and criminals of all types, who are apparently not being persued.

There is no 223 area code in the US.

223 is a country code for Mali in Africa.  This phone call is coming from Africa. This country is well known for phone fraud schemes.

Someone with a strong Indian accent called at 8:20am from 223-051-6600. He said the call was being monitored and demanded that a Sprint debt must be settled immediately and that I hadn't responded to mailings. I have no Sprint debt. I've received no mailings. Also 223-051-6800 was on my caller ID from the night before.

This ultra aggressive, slimmey, and conniving vermin called my wife to threaten our credit rating if we didn't pay instantly with our credit card so she had him conference call to me where he said we had no right to documentation about the "supposed" bill that was 6 years old and thats when I realized it was a SCAM so dont ever respond to anyone who says a paper trail is not possible or legally required from their end of the transaction

I had the exact same thing happen to me two days ago. Caller said he was calling on behalf of a company called Howard Collection based out of Chicago. The thing is, Ive spoken with this company last fall and theyre services werent outsourced . . . The funny part being, I actually had an account from Sprint show up on my credit report ! They said it was a landline account. I've been going and around with them for nearly four and a half years now !

This person keeps calling me from 223-667-97107, which is not a valid US area code.

Some thing same happens to this morning. I got a call from same number , he just confirm my name and hang up immediately, also he had very much Indian accent .

Past two days I am getting call from same number, but i did not lift the phone. i think it may be fraud. Don't answer, block that call if possible

Such as scam, im from Australia and even we're getting these dang messages! Mine comes in the form of a SMS stating:
"YOUR MOBILE NUMBER HAS WON YOU 720,000 POUNDS IN THE FREE LOTTO MOBILE PROMOTION FOR CLAIMS EMAIL (NAME&MOBILE NUMBER) TO: freelot9@live.com CALL+447045728127

But whats funnier the contact number the number they ask you to call is from England, but the SMS ID is from Mali in Africa.

Our business phone showed a number on the caller ID with area code 223.  I was going to return the call, even though no message was left, until I conducted a search for the area code to find out the city of origin.  Thank you for this website.  It saved me from discovering that the number originates in Africa and is a scam.

same here with this number +22377501773. Calls me while I'm in restaurant with business related people, says my first name and hangs up... I live in Belgium

I had 7 missed calls from 122379297238 in a 10 min period, then 2 calls in the middle of the night. This numer (or country code at least) calls in spurts then stops, but leaves barely audible messages with no call to action. Its just plain annoying.
