After a pause, a gentleman with a strong accent told me that I had problems with my computer.  When I asked him what type of computer I had, he responded a Windows based one.  Wrong!  I hung up.

Same here.  He must have a great Friday night planned.  Stupid scammer.

Claimed he was from windows calling about a problem I had with my computer.Wanted me to get on my computer and go thru some steps so that he could identify the specific problem. I hung up.

Received a call from 229-441-5589 implying he was working with Microsoft IT Help desk, and that my computer was generating so many errors on the Microsoft Management Console page that it was in danger of crashing. They would help me ID the issues.

I'm on a Mac. Idiot.

Sounds like same guy, same story, I asked him which computer, the blue one? He wanted me to open the event viewer, so I played along from the couch and said "it's blank" I better check it out, so I said I'd call back soon, hold your breathe until I do.

Same guy called me tonight about my computer. Between the long pause & the strong accent I hung up before he could try to pull me in.

She could not telll me which computer had the issue.  I asked for a letter from, her to identify herself and company and let me know why they were calling.  Told her I would call her back when I received the mail.

Got a call last month telling me that my window's crashed and I needed to get on the computer and get it fixed.  The guy sounded from India and couldn't understand most of what he was saying.  Told him to call back at 7 p.m. since I was in a hurry to leave.  Of course he didn't.  Got another call today saying that there was a problem with my computer (window's) and I needed to get on the computer so it can be fixed.  Kept asking me if I understood what he was saying and saying I understood what he was saying.  Told him to call back at 7:30.  Blocked the number.  When I had called the number back last month, as well as today, said that this number was not in service.

wonder how come he loved you but everyone else is getting computer scammed?

Same call today (Nov. 7,2013.  I talked to him for a while and he wanted to remotely control my computer to fix my 'problem.  I told him I didn't trust him and hung up.  Then he called back about 5 more times and I didn't answer.  He said his name was "Dean Jones"....with a think Indian accent?  Yah, sure.

This number called my house yesterday and today.   The don't leave a message, but hang on the line just long enough for the machine to record them breathing a couple of breaths.   I'm so grateful to this site and contributors for shining a light of truth on this.  I've updated my caller ID so that this number displays with the name "Computer Scam" in case I forget.

because I was asked if I had a computer and I said no.. He ask if I wanted one I said no..He then said if I wanted two computers I said no.. I asked for his boss.. he when said he loved me that I didn't need to get him into trouble..and then the other happened as I said...

Picked up on this caller after one ring, said "HELLO" - no response, I said "HELLO" three or four more times with pause in-between, disconnected. Blocked.

Call received at 12:06 CST on 11/8/13.   Since I did not recognize the area code or number, the call
was not answered.  The caller left a message in a language other than english, so another red flag
was raised.   Came to this web site and confirmed my suspicions.  The number will be blocked on
my phone system.

First received spam txt email on my computer from an Atlanta area code. Within 30 mins received a call from the number listed from a man with a strong accent (perhaps India ?). Best I could understand he was saying he was from Microsoft calling about my computer. I told him I was on the Do Not Call List and I was reporting him and also his txt number  (404-310-8591m) and hung up. Reporting his txt number to my carrier as well.

I did not answer. One more to add to blocker. Do not call is one more government waste of taxpayer money.

They just called my house with a Indian accent telling me about Microsoft problems and i was like what computer and they said the one at your home and i said whats my name he said a random name and i said whats my adress he said a random address these are scammers i believe if you follow through with the process they will take information from your computer i told him he was a scam before i hung up and laughed
