This is a Nigerian man giving a name of John Chesnut running rental scams.  I was considering a property that was a huge deal, did some homework.  He portends to be a missionary with go west africa.org. Kept him going, letting him think he was getting money, just so I could get as much info on him as possible.  Have lots more...

This guy is doing another rental scam. He wants to contact me about a property. Any ideas on how to get enough info from him to catch him. This time he is using the name Ligon Katherine.

I also received an e-mail about a rental property that seemed too good to be true.  He gave me the same information about going to Africa for 8 years and wants to rent out his home instead of selling it.  The name I was given was Carol Buccini.

Now its Nathan Meyer his email looks very much like a scam

Post on craigslist, 2 bedroom, 2 car garage on cape cod MA for $600. They want me to send the money order then they will send the lease and keys. The email being used is: crosssuzanne43@yahoo.com. Will not provide additional pictures, claims they are in West Africa for HIV/AIDS mission for humanity.

Now he is using the name Robert Duke with home in Chapel Hill, NC.  Definitely the same guy - claims HIV/AIDS work in West Africa for 8 years.

I received this number after sending an email about a house on Craigslist for a house in Martinsville, IN. The name used in the email was Michelle Nelson.This is the group he told me he was affiliated with http://www.usaid.gov/ and he said the same story about being in Africa for 8 years. I was looking at houses to rent in ct and i got this guy 3 different times and  the same email came back with his name changed and the address changed as well, i am thinking about going to the house later today and see what the deal is.

I got the very same email from indiana . Definately a scam. The emails were too fishy at the first mention of God. I replied to two different housing listings on craigslist and got the exact same email from two different names

I got the same message, from an ad I replied to on Craigslist, in Morrisville Vt, 3 bedroom $700 a month.

i'm glad i did research on this phone number, the one i was suppled with... i was really considering the place that i found on craigslist, a 3 bedroom 2 bath for only $700, the actual addres of the house is a home that is for sale, the email he sent me says to note the for sale sign but its not for sale anymore because of advice his wife gave him, wow these scams are getting good, why is it so hard to find a decent place to live while going to college!?!?! heres the fishy email he sent me:

Lawrence Thomas in Buffalo, NY is stating the same thing, using the email address weareone112@gmail.com.  What a bummer, the house looked really amazing, but I knew it was too good to be true when the words "fear of God" were used and he asked whether the $900 / month would be alright with me, like rent fee is an option.

Going by the name John Johnson. This time it's 4 years in West Africa and his wife persuaded him not to sell. He's now using John_Johnson0914@yahoo.com as his contact email.
USE GOOGLE EARTH ON THE ADDRESS HE GIVES YOU AND CHECK IT AGAINST THE CRAIGSLIST PICTURES.  He's known for giving out addresses nearby, but not quite the same place. Ask for two proofs of address to prove he resided there at one time, and also ask for a copy of his property inspection. These are your rights under the law, so see if he'll comply!!

His goal: You wire him money, he sends you fake keys, you drive by the house, see it's for sale and pack up and get ready to move, get to the house only to realize the keys don't work and you've just been screwed over.

Glad I was able to find this information on here thanks!

His name changes because he uses the actual home owner's name.  I searched the name he used with me and it came up as residing in the house I was looking at renting.  The FBI has been notified and hopefully this will all stop now.

I called this number about a home that was for rent and he responded as Ashley Thompson in the email so I googled the land records and found the home up for sale by a realtor and the owner is actually Cheryl Thompson.  When I called I asked for Ashley, Cheryl and John Chestnut which I saw in this blog and the man answered that he was all three people.  Talk about scams.
