This number called my wife's cell phone saying her computer was "sending them signals" and it needed to be repaired by them online - that no one else could repair it.  The name he gave was Ryan Smith from Microtech Support. His accent didn't sound like what I'd expect a Ryan Smith to sound like. Also this appears to be a cell phone number.

Just received a call from "Jack West" from microtech. He states my computer is causing problems & I should sign on to fix it. I called microsoft & they said this is a known scam & to report it.

I just got the following email from my mother. I let her know that this is a scam.

I had the same type call from 619 863 4154.  Said it was Microsoft and that my computer was being hacked.  Suddenly the company became Microtech and my computer had viruses.  I was told to call Ryan Smith at 239 247 5552, which, of course, I didn't do.

Just received a call from this number advising me my computer had a virus. They wanted me to log on and they would help me get rid of the virus. I asked for a call back number, took it and hung up.

I too got the "call" from Microtech...I took down their number and offered to call her back as I could not UNDERSTAND her.  Why do they not hire english speaking salespeople if they expect to perpetuate their scam?  lol  am reporting it immediately as we are on the do not call list.  Am also contemplating taking them to small claims court per Clark Howard.

Look at the absurd spelling and grammatical errors displayed in these last 4 post. Obviously this is a scam, it is so transparent it is almost laughable.

These a**holes called my elderly mother and convinced her she had viruses and that they were from microsoft.  His name was Ryan Smith with a habib accent.  She called me and put me on speaker and I told him to cancel and that were going to call the authorities.  He said he was with micro tech not microsoft.  called credit card company to cancel card.  beware people.  No one calls you to tell you that your computer is communicating with them about a virus.  SCAM SCAM SCAM.  Also whatever great remarks that are above are from the scammer themselves.

I just got call from 888681625. Saying its a technician working for MicroTech in Clearwater FL, and that my computer reported to microsoft that I have an error, and they contracted to Microtech to repair it Via Remote access.

They would not tell me how they got my phone number, what the probrem with my computer is, and how come that 20 some years of using Windows, not even once this happened.

He insisted that that the once I gave them access to my computer, all will explained to me.

I tol him I don't believe you, and I'm going to verify this with Microsoft. Guy said that contract was with top level officials of both company that the lowly phone operater would not know about contract.

I received a telephone call when they first asked for my mother by name.  Then then asked for my name.  My computer IP was downloading multiple error files and they would help me fix it for free.  First of all, I never heard of this company and do not subscribe to their service.  Why would a company want to help me fix my computer?  Claimed to be calling from Texas but I heard a distinct Filipino accent.  This scamming has to be stopped.  I could only imagine what some people might provide to these Con-Artists.

I too got a call and was sceptical at first especially as the agent: Maggie sounded foreign however, as I my computer used to freeze every couple of hours so,  I decided to go ahead and buy the service and paid $250. They spent almost 3 hours trying to fix it remotely, however turned out to be a hardware problem and they sent and Engineer to my home the next day which was impressive. He replaced my power supply, cleaned my fan and now my computer works perfectly. I have no regrets and mildly surprised at the level of service. I have no idea if the above happy customers are fake comments however I can say this that I had a good experience and am completely satisfied customer and would recommend them if you can get passed the “habib” prejudice as in the previous post.

this is all scam this guys are from india.. i received a call from this guys asking me for money to fix my computer...i called FBI and they traced there call and they are in search of this scammers now...there investigation is still going on they says they are from mumbai from india so hope they will be jailed soon SCAMMERSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

They called my mother and told her they had receive a log showing that her computer had been downloading harmful files, that they are Microsoft certified and are using Microsoft's database of registered genuine microsoft systems to gain information about the owners.  Supposedly that is where they got her phone number.  The kicker is the computer is not registered to her.  It is an old computer I purchased from the company I work for and it is actually registered to them.  I still don't know where they got her number.  Between the person who answered the phone and the supervisor I asked to speak with I got so many different stories about who they are and what they do I would not trust them as far as I could throw them.

They provide really great service, my computer crashed and they helped me fix it. I trusted them and i was rewarded. They are doing a great job let them do it. Losers get a life if u dont know whats good and whats bad. So stop complaining and stop spreading rumours atleast. If there is anything legit it is Microtec Support. Keep it up Microtec Support.

hmm...WOW!!!! Many farking comments on Microtec Support.....Dam...I am confused.... I received a call from them a week back stating that my computer have downloaded some corrupted or malicious files....then they took the access and showed me that my couple of softwares are corrupted.....but i dint believe them and i took my computer to a local guy......my local guy (that as*hol*)  charged me $45 just to show me the same thing........if i have believed them (Microtec Support) then i would have saved $45......then i called back them and have my computer fixed....since then my computer is working fine ..i guess i am a happy customer.....so loosers (with negative comments) go and shove ur computers in ur stinky as*....STFU....lol (:

Just received a call from Dannon Johnson who said he was from Microsoft. He said they were receiving messages from my computer saying I had a corrupted file. My cell phone showed +8886816925. I asked where he was sitting and he said in Houston. I then asked again from the company name and he said MicroTech. I asked for a call back number and he gave me 239-247-5552. I asked if it meant I had a virus and he said it was something but he couldn't identify it without scanning my computer. I told him I was not at my desk and would have to call back. Then I checked here. I won't be calling back
