The number called me again twice. I picked up the second time, then heard a beep, and the line disconnected.

The guy said he is from Takeshipers. The number is from MI but I think the call is from India via Voice Over IP technology. Not sure you know, but anyone can generate a local number and disguise their phone number or location? So, when you are contacted by a recruiter, make sure you don't provide any personal info such as SSN, etc. Do research about the company on link. See what others say about them. Also, check their website and get the main line and transfer from their to the recruiter as opposed to the number the want you the call them.

You mean "TekShapers".. The guy emailed me & then seconds later called me. Goes by the name "Akash Chauhan" & here's his email: achauhan@tekshapers.com..  I had a very hard time making out what he was saying. Yes, I believe he's from India.

But yea, like the above poster stated, the wise & obvious thing to do is to not give out any sensitive info. They don't seem legit at all btw.

If you do a quick search for their address they have listed on their job listings and elsewhere, you will see that it is a random house in MI. Running a "business" such as this in the middle of a residential area cries fake.

    Fed up with these calls
I got two back-to-back calls from this number.  Whoever it was, I never pick up if I haven't programmed the number into my phone.  If it was a recruiter, it would be typical of the "dirtbag" segment of this industry

    Called 3 times today
These guys are the TekShapers recruiting firm, but they called me 3 times.  Once at 12:04, once at 12:27, then at 3:08.  This is what I call spam.  I am never answering them now.

2/20/18. These guys from the TekShapers called me several times regarding the interview. They tried to collect my private info by promising the interview for IT position with a good company. I verified that they called me from India and they do not have any direct clients for placements.  Never talk to them again.

Tekshapers just rang my phone once, I'm at work so I sent it to voicemail. he hung up immediately and dialed back. Since I wasn't busy and felt like entertaining my coworkers, I picked up and asked "did you just hang up on my voicemail and call me right back? (in a serious demanding voice i reserve for meetings). He tried to stammer off a justification. Before he could, I barked DON'T CALL BACK! and hung up. BTW, the way recruitment works is by the time a requisition ends up in the hands of someone like this, the American(or your country) firms have already given up on finding the candidate to meet the needs of the hiring manager. There are two tiers of this in America. First tier (directly connected firms that deal with the client company) then second tier, these guys get it when it goes cold after a couple weeks on the first tier. when second tier American companies cant place it, it goes cold and these popup companies in Bangalore with Skype numbers pretending to be in Michigan grab it. The tipoff is any reputable recruiter doesnt introduce themself to you saying "with my direct client"... this is tantamount to saying "buy my totally not-broken car". its a reveal. Any firm that doesnt wait for you to ask about their relationship with the client to tell you, has no relationship with that company and is just building a resume database.

They are a Technology Recruiter based in India and have a satellite office in MI (which is strange since most Indian recruiters have their satellite offices in New Jersey)

They called me Monday (March 25th) with an IT position for KeyBank based out of their Cleveland head office.  I had the interview with KeyBank on March 29th.

Not quite at the same level as TalentBurst or e-team (both Indian based with satellite offices in New Jersey) but still legitimate

3 calls within a minute, all hangups and no messages.  No serious recruiter would do this.  Could be trolling for phone numbers.

I receive many (here I mean 3,500 emails minimum daily and about 20 calls) unsolicited calls and emails for IT work every day. To keep the peace, pre-screen and rate qualify these requests I use very complex email routers and rules and have a sophisticated interactive voice response unit that handles all my calls and text messaging. Over the last few days I found literally hundreds of calls from this number logged to my IVR. Most calls were hang-ups and then the next call was initiated 2 seconds later. To shut-down this caller I added a special IVR  path that delivered "Your number has been identified as an abusive caller" message with an immediate hang-up. The IVR no longer receives calls from them every 2 seconds.

If this number is in fact some offshore IT recruiter then I would suggest that everyone block this number. If we coach women to run from a guy that calls them 10 times a day, then it seems prudent to advise anyone to flee or block a number from anyone or any company that dials in every 2 seconds.

This person has sent me multiple emails and calls regularly about some job. The job description, in the email, seems bogus. All they want is a skype phone interview - sure, right!
