- girlnextdoorTold me he was from the "Visa Verification Department," but refused to tell me which company. Started to ask me if I was making minimum payments on my card, which I refused to answer. I then asked him which Visa company he represented--he said it was to do with my RBC Visa (which I do not have). I told him I thought he was a scammer and hung up.
- Caller: supposedly RBC Visa
- annie kI got a call from this number at 4:30 in the morning, but there was nobody on the line. It makes me wonder if this person is a scammer.
- I never buy from spammers/telemarketersThis number called me yesterday, at 12:50 Pacific, and their automated system left a partial message on my voice-mail, saying that "there is nothing wrong with my account" and "you may qualify for a 6.9% rate", and "press 1 to talk to Card Services or press 2 to be removed".
Probably a SCAMMER trying some IDENTITY THEFT information-harvesting, or just simply trying to get my current credit-card information so that they could abuse it.- Caller: Unavailable
- Call type: Telemarketer
- I never buy from spammers/telemarketersThe caller's number is a "mobile" number assigned to "Bell Canada" that is a _local_ call to me.
I called the number -- it did not ring. After a few seconds, I got my normal dial-tone Weird.
Obviously, a _FORGED_ caller telephone-number, crafted to make it more likely that I pickup.- Caller: Unavailable
- Call type: Telemarketer
- jencgot a call from this number Thursday at 6.50pm. Man with an accent saying he was my computer service provider and if I didnt get on my computer and comply with his I would lose my computer tomorrow. He was very angry and unhappy from the begining.
- Caller: Windows Service Provider
- scambusterGot a call from this number at 7 a.m. on a Saturday (how rude!!...but of course these scammers are probably off shore and are too stupid to understand time zones). I picked up and just got dead air.
It is interesting that this number has infrequent complaints...5 over 9 months...and that the scam varies from the old credit card scam to the even older computer malfunction scam. I don't know what they were after from me this morning...however, I got two calls from "James" yesterday (James who had a heavy south asian accent) saying he was from Microsoft and that my computer (which was unplugged and packed up due to construction) was sending "error messages" yada yada yada. The call display said it was an unknown number and unnamed person calling.
I'm guessing my call this morning was a follow-up to that attempt yesterday.
My last words to "James" after stringing him along for awhile were that he needed to learn when to give it up and move on to the next victim, that he was a criminal and should get an honest job.
I hate criminals but absolutely detest stupid criminals.- Caller: Moronic criminals
- CodieIs Telus not able to stop the scammers. Not much point being on a No Call List when one still gets calls. This number has to do with credit cards

- SherriGot a call from this creep 4 times in the last 2 days. He keeps trying to tell me he is damn i forget he is trying to sell me something anyways. I told him not to phone. He as I said has phoned 3x since waking me up each time.
- AnonymMan with Indo-Asian accent phoned me to inform me that my PC had a virus. I asked who he was-(I didn't understand-his accent thickened each time I ASKED A QUESTION). I asked who he worked for, & again got the heavy accent, I think he said he worked for PC Security. He knew my name & address AND email through F-Book...not enough for me to give him my credit card information.
Ten minutes of yanking this guy's chain was fun, so I finished our conversation, "You're saying my 'PC' is most definitely infected, got a virus-MY 'PC' HAS A VIRUS? "it certainly does, sir", he replied...
"I'M RELIEVED THAT YOU DON'T DO YOUR RESEARCH, BUDDY.I DON'T EVEN USE OR OWN A PC'", I told him.
"I have dialed the wrong number. 'Click'. He hung up.,
I haven't heard back from that number. I also dislike criminals, & stupid criminals...even more!- Caller: (250) 220-1090
- PierreCalled again today at 11:55AM and when answered, no one on the other end. Tried to have that number screened out by Telus but didn't work because according to Telus this number is allegedly disconnected or belongs to a business... Telus call screen "service" is anything but a service and they are really unhelpful when dealing with scammers.
- JMOspoofed number I guess used for various criminal scams
- Caller: stupid criminals
- Island GirlDidn't recognize the number, let it go to voice mail, and they recorded silence. Have now blocked their number.
