Very annoying.  Two calls in one day

This is a new number in my records as well, but we can be certain it's another JUNK call!

Calling is automatic.  Starts with a canned message about a "second and final notice" to reduce my interest rate, then you might get connected to a telemarketer after several rings. He identifies himself (repeatedly) when asked "Which company is calling?" as representing the "Lower Interest Rate Department of Visa and MasterCard".  When I point out VISA and MC are two separate entities, he still insists on knowing which card I use.  So I ask what number he is calling me from.  At that point, he must finally realize I am wise to his SCAM, and he hangs up.

wanted to offer lowest interst rate on my credit card and wanted the numbers. I said tell me which one I have. he hung up.

recorded message as stated above. I pressed 1 and a male asked me how I was. When I asked him which card this was notice for, he said nothing else and ended the call. Scammer!

I am amazed that no one seems to be concerned about the fact that this sort of thing is even allowed.  The call comes up as "not in service" when I call it back.  One telephone provider says that can't happen but won't speak to the fact that it is.  Another provider says they pay MEGA dollars for this privilege.  The bottom line, as long as WE allow this sort of thing, WE will keep getting our rights abused.

Same story. Nobody at other end.CRTC does not do anything when it is reported. Just like the never ending Air Duct cleaning calls.I have started speaking in expletives to these total morons

Je viens de recevoir un appel de ce numéro disant que je devais un montant sur une carte de crédit et que c'était le dernier avis. Qu'est-ce que c'est?!

I emailed crtc and they are totally useless.  They told the best they do shut down all long distance calls.  I wonder if any of those people would like to have no long distance education calls ago home.  DOH.

Try this if you get the chance. When someone like this calls, ask them to hold on a minute and just put the phone down and continue with what ever you were doing. Now your waisting their time and it's very unlikely that they'll call again. Time is money!!

That is what I do everytime this number calls me as soon as I hear the automated voice I put the phone down because obviously it is a scam I dont even use visa or mastercard lol they are persistent and keep calling me back tho.

Wait until you are talking to a real human, not a machine. Ask that person to wait a second while you get your glasses ( for example). Don't hang up the phone and just leave the telemarketer waiting for you to come back and speak to them again. They will sometimes wait for several minutes before they hang up. I was actually turned on to this idea by someone who once worked as a telemarketer. They told me that it was the most frusterating thing that could happen to them and it threw their bosses into a fit of rage.

Jai recu cet appel aujourd'hui aussi. J'ai demandé le nom de la compagnie: Cod Services ou quelque chose du genre. J'ai demandé le nom de l'agent et tout de suite dit que je vais enregister une plainte au LNNTE et CRTC. Il m'a soudainement souhaité une belle journée et m'a raccroché au nez.

they called me today January 2, 2013 and they said that they are calling from visa and they want offer me a low interest on my visa card and they asked me to confirm my visa number and I refused and hanged up

    This is the fourth time I got the same "second and final notice, urgent" recorded message and
this time I  let  it play out instead of hanging up. After 10 rings he said thanks for responding. And
when I said what's this credit card call all about? I don't have a credit card, he hung up.
    I called back and got "no service at this number" message.
   I found out the call was made on a Telus landline, in Siomous, BC, postal code V0E ---
