Has anyone else been called by this phone number supposedly from a Computer Doctor re virus on your computer. Oriental person who was very persistant.

Yes, I got the call in Canada and did not answer as I suspected it was a telemarketer. Glad I did not answer.

this number called us and we did not answer the phone.

YEAH I GOT THE CALL THREE TIMES AND TOLD HIM THE NEXT CALL WOULD BE FROM THE POLICE.

Yes, I've received several calls from this number and chose not to answer...suspected telemarketer.  Glad I didn't answer.  Thanks.

YES I just did, answered it, they asked if I was Mrs. XXX (which is my former married last name) ... I asked who was calling, they said "Well you dont know if you are Mrs. XXX.  I said I'm not giving out my name unless I know who I'm talking to" .... he paused, then hung up on me.  I live on Vancouver Island, Canada.  RUDE!

I got a call today Dec.23, 2010 from some oriental guy (I guess according to his accent) and he said my husbands name, as I have different one and asked me to go to computer because my files are supposedly corrupt. He was very persistent and said he is calling me from New York, but I found out as some of you also did that the number is from Auburn. He said he is from Computer Doctor. Thanks for this site that clarified his intentions. is there any way that his telephone company be notified of his ill intentions. I live in London, ON. Canada

i just received a call from what sound liked a foreigner. He wanted to know if someone in my family suffered with back pain. I told him no one lives here but me and i don't suffer with back pain. He hung up

received this call and after asking who it was they hung up on us

they left a message saying "you are going to die" what ever!

Yes I got a call from this number on December 28 @ 12:43PM PST.  I have no idea how they got my name and phone number.

By the way the person on the other end sounded East Indian and not Oriental.  They asked for me via my first name, Mr. Steven as opposed to my last name.  In any case it was Virtual PC Doctor calling me here in Vancouver.

-supposedly from Computer Doctor and wanted me to download a file or program that would analyse my computer to find malware files causing slow start-ups and other computer problems....
-could hear  background noises typical of telemarketers.....
-he did have an accent speaking fluent English...Indian perhaps...was polite but very persistant...
-he walked me thru the procedure...(Start / Right click Computer /...Do you see your pictures and files/documents icons?? ....at which point I refused  to click to grant permission for changes to be made to the computer ...and ended the phone call.

I didn't get to answer, I was out, just inquiring.

Tell him you know he is calling from Auburn Washington and the Police are on their way.  Easy to find the location of any number on the net.  It is just a matter of time before they pick this guy up.

Mine was from a very bad middle eastern accent.  He lives in Auburn Washington off of Hwy I-5.  If he calls you back let him know the police are watching.

Middle eastern accent (very bad fake), from the above number.  Must be a beginner as he is really stupid.  If you want info you don't hang up on someone playing along.  Either way he is from Auburn Washington and the Police have been called.

Pretty much the same as what has been described. Man with a thick accent didn't give me his name or whom he was representing. Specifically asked for my husband and knew his name. He wasn't home and proceeded to lecture me about how our computer was at risk for malicious attacks that would corrupt our files etc...etc. I asked what the purpose of his call was and he started his story all over again. I advised this solicitor that my husband has an advanced knowledge of computers and is well aware of how to prevent, detect and remove anything having worked for an ISP company...to let him know that I'm not interested nor need what he's trying to sell. He spoke over me and refused to listen to what I was saying. It became a shouting match. At which point I told him to remove our # from his mail/calling list, he no longer had permission to contact us and hung up. He called back! Started ranting at me about how we're at risk and I told him that his calls would be blocked from this point on. I've never had to block someone. While finding that out, he called back another two times. Finally blocked the number and the phone indicates 3 missed consecutive calls which show up with our service. He would have just heard that the person he's calling is unable to come to the phone with no option to leave a msg.

Silence then hang up.
