- warny05Got a call from this number - automated message insinuating there was fraudulent activity on my card but turned into a pitch to lower apr. Hit one to speak to a representative (no other option given). "Ed" answered and I asked "what company are you" he mumbled Account Services or something like that. I asked "what number can I reach your company at" and he hung up. Scam or bad telemarketing tactics - either one stinks. I called the number and an auto message gave the option to opt out and be put on do not call. I entered my number - i doubt it will work. Same exact message has been received from other phone numbers including 646-558-5591

- ZekeThere is an actual legal recourse to the unwanted calls from these scumbags; and frustrated people all over the country may be able to get one of the attorneys below to take the case without any cost to the aggrieved party.
See the link http://www.denverpost.com/business/ci_17488126 for an article in the Denver Post by David Migoya which references local attorney David Larson (CollectorAbuse.com) as having filed 268 cases against debt collectors & others in 2010. You can go to his webpage for contact information, i.e. http://collectorabuse.com/default.asp or to send an email query.
The only caveat is that the attorney will get most of the settlement, and you will end up with about $1,000; but Mr. Larsen is a proven commodity in this area & does all the legal work... (a win-win in my opinion)
The article also points out that attorney Charity Olson of Ann Arbor, Michigan also specializes in suing these people. Charity can be contacted at:

Her webpage notes that an initial consultation is free...
There's also another bunch of cretins from 402-201-2770, a debt collection company called Riverside Homes. They don't have any idea who they actually called, but that sure doesn't slow them down. Guess I should enjoy and encourage them to waste even more of their time calling us so they aren't bothering other people who actually owe a debt. However, I was about ready to unplug our telephones until we needed to make an outgoing call after numerous calls from their # above; then I discovered I can turn off the ringers when I'm fed up with early am calls. Good lordy, it's been a lot quieter at our house since....- Caller: 'Disconnected'
- GetSmartReceived call from this number today on my work cell phone. I do not know how they recvd the number. The call starts out with an automated message about lowering your interest rate on credit cards. I pressed "1" and was transferred to a fast-talking male. I asked him which credit card company he represented and he stated that his company represents them all. I then asked him for the website address so that I can do some research and verify the legitimacy of the "service" that he claimed to provide and he quickly hung up the phone at this request. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES RESPOND TO CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER OR PROVIDE ANY PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION TO THESE CREEPS. This apperars to be a huge crime ring... similar to the Nigerian money scheme.
- Caller: Did not provide
- Call type: Telemarketer
