Caller ID said "Public Safety" I don't answer unless I know who calling. I didn't have my answering machine on but they have called multiple times the last few days. I tried calling the number back today after it rang several times I got a message that the extention was busy & to leave a message. No company on the message. Anyone know who this is, shouldn't be a credit card of ours because this is a new phone number that we haven't given to anyone yet.

Hi there, same thing happened to me.  I live in NC and just recently got a new number.  I am guessing it is for home security services because I have been getting a ton of those calls.  Just curious, did you get a number from Time Warner?  I am wondering if they sold the list, mine is unpublished....

Those [***] call call call all day just curious how time warner gives you a unlisted number and all of a sudden alarm ppl are calling me and know my name time waner cable SUCK

I agree, while yes time warner cable did that too me . They called today.

They keep calling me too, I have a new number & they called 3 times during my 2 baby's naps today (waking them up). The 3rd time I answered & my dog went crazy barking at the same time so I yelled at my dog & hung up because it sounded like I was yelling at the person on the line. Well, 2 hours later the person from "Public Safety" called me back & said "I wouldn't have appreciated it if someone said that to me!" & hung up! Soo strange for a telemarketer to do that!

Recieving calls several times per day at random times...  270-495-0228 "Unknown Caller" in the caller ID.

Today I answered and got a distracted operator (was not expecting an answer?) who provided the following information:

I work for (company below) and we are fundraising for Breast Cancer, (blah, blah...) and want you to listen to the following recorded message.

I refused to listen to it, and started calmly asking questions, the answers to which are below.
